Question about Polycom SoundPoint IP 500 IP Phone

Open Question

Asterisk 1.2 w/ polycom 500

Hi I'm a bit new at this environment so...here goes.

I have the above setup and I am trying to set the time and date on my phones. I had a few in the office just blinking and after I performed a reboot (in order to update the phone directory) of the asterisk server last night, they all are blinking the time and date. Everything I read pointed me to either a reboot or the ntp.confg file. I checked the file and all subsaquent files and figured what could ti hurt??? While it's not painful but it isn't pretty either. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jess

I have a corded model #77519 phone, how do I change the time and date.

The complete user's manual for your phone is available at the following link:

http://www.retrevo.com/d/df/MANUAL000032975.pdf?doc=532906c5a747ab87134404141e9c11c8&ts=1313184836863&rk=0.17208479428095913

Just use your mouse to click on the link which is the highlighted and underlined text above. This will open a new browser page for you automatically and allow you to download the manual.

Here is an excerp from that manual which describes how to set the time and date:

GETTING STARTED

Caller ID Initial Setup:
After the battery installation and telephone line connection the display will show the Set Language screen:

Set Language

1. Press the Review UP or DOWN button to select the desired language.
E=ENGLISH
F=FRENCH
S=SPANISH

2. Once the desired language is selected , press the ERASE button to
confirm selection.

3. Then the display will change to the Set Time / Date screen and the hour icon will be blinking.

Set Time/Date

1. Press the UP or DOWN button to set the current hour.

2. Press the ERASE button to shift to the minute setting.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above to set MINUTE, MONTH and DATE.

4. Once the correct TIME/DATE is shown on the display, press the
ERASE button to end the setting. Then the display will change to
show the normal status.

Changing The Language Mode and TIME/DATE

1. Press and hold the ERASE button then press UP button.

2. Then follow the steps described above.

Good luck, I hope this was helpful.

How do i set the time and date

Hi
Note If you press Start Fax Color but the sender sent the fax in black and
white, the HP all-in-one prints the fax in black and white.
Set the date and time
You can set the date and time from the control panel. When a fax is transmitted, the
current date and time are printed along with the fax header. The date and time format
is based on the language and country/region setting.
Note If your HP all-in-one loses power, you will need to reset the date and time.
1 Press Setup.
2 Press 4, and then press 1.
This selects Basic Fax Setup and then selects Date and Time.
3 Enter the month, day, and year by pressing the appropriate numbers on the
keypad. Depending on your country/region setting, you might enter the date in a
different order.
The underline cursor is presented initially beneath the first digit; it automatically
advances to the next digit when you press a button. The time prompt
automatically appears after you enter the last digit of the date.
4 Enter the hours and minutes.
5 If your time is displayed in the 12-hour format, press 1 for AM, or 2 for PM.
The new date and time settings appear on the control panel display.
