Diagnostic complete I did the diagnostic on my washer and now the code C:03 is on the display, what now?

Apparently when I saw that the washe was just making noise while it was running diagnostics, I thought it was messing up again so I unplugged it but then I plugged it back in and reran diagnostics. That's when I got the code. I since then washed 7 loads without ANY problems until my last load again, (the only load I am using only hot water) Thanks very much for this website cured my initial problem either way (F 06). My washer went back to it's bad self, I guess I'm going to half to call an expert.

Thank you gentlemen, saved me from going to the washeteria today!

I looked up the Hot Water Inlet Valve, apparently it's only going to cost me about $20. I turned my cycle to rinse and spin with cold water selected and it just finished a few minutes ago with no problem. I unplugged the washer and I'll run the diagnostics on it again tomorrow. I did some troubleshooting on it today myself. I checked every connector, plugged and unplugged all the hoses and you name it. Mind you I'm just a data analyzer but all as well, everything seemed in place to me. Thanks so much for your feedback, when I called the Whirlpool 800 number they would not give me a couple of minutes to troubleshoot or gave me the details of my potential problem as this website has. That was Whirlpool, great product, not so great warranties.

    Thanks again

Your washer apparently did not complete diagnostics. The display indicates that it stopped at the segment of the test where it was attempting to fill by using the hot water solenoid. The diagnostic test segments check the following:

C:00 - Door Lock
C:01 - Flow Meter, Cold Water Solenoid
C:02 - Dispenser Motor, Dispenser Contacts
C:03 - Hot Water Inlet Valve
C:04 - Motor rotates CW at wash speed
C:05 - Heater & NTC (Heater Sensor)
C:06 - Drain Pump
C:07 - Motor rotates CCW at 35 to 90 rpm within 15 seconds
C:08 - Motor rotates CCW at max. speed.

If there is an error associated with any portion of the diagnostics, the washer will shut down, an audible alarm will be heard, and an error (F) code will be displayed. Sometimes the washer will experience momentray glitches during testing, however. I would recommend unplugging the washer for at least 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). The is the main "brain" of the washer. Upon reset, attempt diagnostics again and let me know the results. I hope this helps you.

"F06" is a Motor Speed error. The following link explains:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06...

This could be an indication of a Drive Motor failure and/or Motor Control Unit (MCU) failure. It could also be something as simple as a loose connector or broken wire between the Drive Motor, MCU, or Central Control Unit (CCU). Read through the link for detailed information about this. I would start by verifying all your wiring connections. Then, rule out the motor by doing resistance checks on the motor windings. In most cases, this error is generated by a failed MCU.

If you you are somewhat savvy with electronics, this repair can easily be accomplished by the average do-it-yourselfer. Replacement parts can also be ordered on line and shipped directly to you. If you wish to save yourself from a service call, and avoid labor charges, I may be able to assist you further. Just let me know...

Were there any other error codes displayed? What occurs when you attempt to use a HOT water only selection?

Well...keep me in mind, and let me know if you have any additional problems or error codes. I'm familiar with this washer as I've worked on it many times. I also own one. I believe in the DIY aspect of fixing most common problems as I have seen the business side of the appliance repair business and didn't have a good feeling about the things I had to charge customers for. Many of these repairs are simple with a little guidance. Just some food for thought...

Washer will not run or complete a diagnostic.

1. The washing machine needs to be plugged in and in stand by mode with all indicators off.
2. Choose any one button on the washer's console except Power, Start, or Stop. Press/Hold 3 Seconds - Release 3 Seconds - Press/Hold 3 Seconds - Release 3 Seconds - Press/Hold 3 Seconds.
3. If the diagnostic test mode has been successfully entered, all of the indicator lights will glow for five seconds with 88 on the time display. (If it didn't work try #2 again One one thousand...Two one thousand...Three one thousand)
4. If there are any saved fault codes they will be displayed. If there are no save fault codes all indicator lights will turn off for a moment then back on with 88 displayed and the automatic diagnostic test mode will begin in five seconds.
5. If you are unable to enter the diagnostic test mode, press the power button and verify that the button you were trying to use operates properly to program the washer's cycle function. There may be something wrong with that function button. Find another button on the control that appears to work and try to enter the diagnostic mode with that button. You may also want to verify that the user interface has a good connection to the washing machine control board at the P11 terminal.

Note: Pressing the STOP or POWER button at any time to exit the washing machine's diagnostic mode.

Where is the reset button on a hottpoint side by side refrigerator.

Self Diagnostics

To enter Self Diagnostic mode, both temperature control panel displays must be illuminated. A display can be illuminated by pressing an adjacent temperature adjustment button. When both displays are illuminated, set the freezer and refrigerator temperature settings to 5. Simultaneously press and hold all 4 temperature adjustment buttons for approximately 3 seconds. A flashing 0 in the refrigerator and freezer displays will indicate that the refrigerator is in Self Diagnostic mode.

To perform a self diagnostic test, locate the test in Table 2, Diagnostic Tests.

For temperature control panels with single-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers up and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers down. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test. Press the HOLD button for 3 seconds to begin the test.

For temperature control panels with 3-digit displays, the COLDER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers down and the WARMER temperature adjustment button will increment the numbers up. Use the freezer temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the freezer display. Use the refrigerator temperature adjustment buttons to enter the test code number in the refrigerator display. When a test code has been entered, the displays will flash to confirm the test code. Press any button other than a temperature adjust button to begin the test.

When testing has been completed, do one of the following things:

• Enter code 1 5 to completely reset the system.
• Enter code 1 6 to exit diagnostic mode. The temperature control panel is reset automatically.
• Unplug the refrigerator for at least 10 seconds. Test mode will terminate when the refrigerator is plugged back in.

Test mode will terminate automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.

My cabrio wtw6200sw2 has F50 code and won't spin I can't seem to find out what the code means. Could it be the motor coupler or controller board?

The F50 code for the Whirlpool Cabrio is most commonly a Motor Control Board failure.

Motor Stalled
F then 50 flashes when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation.
? Does basket turn freely? If not, make sure bottom shipping pack has been removed. Determine cause of friction.
? If basket turns freely, see TEST #3, page 4 of the Diagnostics and Repair manual.

DIAGNOSTIC TESTS
There are three diagnostic test modes available: Automatic, Manual and Console. These tests allow the factory or service personnel to test and verify all inputs to the machine/motor control. You may want to allow the automatic test cycle to complete prior to going into specific troubleshooting tests.

ACTIVATION OF AUTOMATIC DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE
  1. Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off; or with only the Clothes Clean or Done indicator on).
  2. Select any one button (except POWER, START, STOP and PAUSE/CANCEL) and follow the steps below, using the same button (remember the button):
  • Press/hold 3 seconds.
  • Release for 3 seconds.
  • Press/hold 3 seconds.
  • Release for 3 seconds.
  • Press/hold 3 seconds.
  • If this test mode has been entered successfully, all indicators on the console are illuminated for 5 seconds with 88 showing in the Estimated Time Remaining two-digit display.
  • If indicators do not display as described above, the press/hold/release procedure above may not have been performed within the time frame necessary for successful entry. Repeat step 2 to ensure this was not the cause.
  • If still unsuccessful, see Diagnostic: Unsuccessful Entry.
  1. The program then checks for saved fault codes:
? If there are no saved fault codes, all indicators on the console will momentarily turn off, then
turn back on with 88 displayed. After 5 seconds, the Automatic test, below, begins.

DIAGNOSTIC: Automatic
Performs a five-minute automatic test with water functions to check major washer functions (door can be open). Press the same button used in step 2 above to advance through automatic test steps.

NOTE: Basket must be floating in order to agitate.

There is not a "diagnostic mode" for the neptune washer.
All tests and functionality are done at each setting using the timer (except the tach circuit)
What is the problem you are looking to diagnose??

MY TROUBLE LIGHT IS STAYING ON

2000-2004

The Diagnostic Mode is entered by turning the ignition from OFF to ON while holding the reset switch in. The normal power-up sequence will occur before entering the diagnostic mode. Diagnostic codes set during this power-up sequence will be stored as well.

Important Note: Be sure no diagnostic codes are indicated before reset is held in for more than 5 seconds or diagnostic information will be lost.

When in diagnostic mode the odometer will display the first diagnostic code. When the trip switch is pressed again the next code will be shown. If the trip switch is pressed for more than 5 seconds at any time while in the diagnostic mode, the diagnostic code displayed will be erased.

There are 7 different diagnostic codes available. They are as follows:
d01 - Speed sensor power output shorted low
d02 - Speed sensor power output shorted high or open
d03 - Not Used
d04 - Not Used
d05 - Speed sensor return shorted high
d06 - Speed sensor return shorted low
d07 - Not Used
d08 - Speedometer power over voltage
d09 - Speed output shorted high
d10 - Speed output shorted low or open
CAL XX - Speedometer application calibration number:
14 = Domestic
15 = HDI

When in the diagnostic mode, all codes are displayed in sequence from d01 to d10.

As a code appears in the display (for instance d02), it will read "d02Set" if set or "d02CLr" if clear.

The diagnostic mode is exited either by turning ignition from ON to OFF to ON again without depressing the reset switch or if a speed signal greater than 5 MPH is detected.

Diagnostics cannot be performed if system voltage is less than 9 VDC or greater than 16 VDC. The only exception is d08 which is set when system voltage is greater than 16 VDC.

After all the diagnostic codes are displayed, the speedometer calibration number is displayed (CAL 14 for example).
