Question about Bosch Kitchen Ranges

2 Answers

We have just replaced the interface board on our Bosch oven model # HGS7282UC-01. When we put the oven to preheat it stays on for about a minute and then shuts off and shows an error code 160. Can you tell me what this code is and how to fix it? Thanks.

The oven was turning on and off by itself and beeping constantly also the oven light would go on by itself. It mostly did this when the oven was heated but also at times did it when the oven was not in use. At that time it showed other error codes such as code 120 and 125. We were told it was the interface board and there have been quite a few problems with this due to the heat from the oven going directly up into the area where the interface board is housed.

Now that we have put the new board in it does sound like a fan is on when we try to heat the oven. It was not doing this beofre.

The tangential blower fan in the top rear has an RPM speed sensor on it. The sensor sends a pulse to the control board at each revolution. If the control board detects that the pulses are coming in too slowly, it will show error 160. The blower may have too much friction in its bearing(s). I took the outboard white plastic bearing off (behind the red rubber) and cleaned it with a Q-tip. I also scraped some deposits off of the metal blower wheel shaft (need a strong magnifier to see this). Then I added light machine oil to the felt oil sponge at the bottom of the hole in the bearing. The blower then ran much faster, and no error!

there is a casing stat which senses overheat. this can be due to lack of ventilation if a built-in type or a fault with the fan

  • tech gurus Oct 03, 2008

the which u say -- error -160 indicates faulty fan or in a very rare case its a heating temprature control sensor which is faulty whic inturn stops the fan and shows the fan error.but according to me the more chances are of a faulty fan

Sounds like a circuit board issue. If in Warranty, contact the manufacturer and have the controller replaced. A routine cleaning has noting to do with the normal operation of the baking or broiling function. Cleaning is disengaged after the door is unlocked and ready for general aplications.

BOSCH HBL3450UC Single Oven weak/slow pre-heat

I have a Kitchen Aid convection wall oven. It takes 6 - 7 minutes to preheat to 325 degrees. You probably have a bad element. There are 2 elements.

Preheating Oven

Cold Stove, you may not be able to. The issue here is that oven manufactures put on their units a fast preheat. However it isn't possible to preheat an oven for 7 to 9 minutes and bake short time bake items properly. Also the oven sensor will respond faster than the absorbation rate of the sheet metal in the oven liner. To preheat an oven properly takes 15 to 20 minutes before putting in the food. I see this will a lot of current ovens. Sounds like a normal format of the control.

Oven will not light - get F1 code

Your touch pad or control board is bad.
To determine what is bad, disconnect the ribbon strip to the board.
If you receive a code replace the board.
If no code appears, replace the touch pad.
