Question about Lexmark X7170 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My main computer is in for repair, so I am trying to install my Lexmark X7170 to my laptop so I can print from there. I have the disk and have attempted to install the drivers etc, but when trying to print an error message reads:parameter incorrect or error: continue running scripts? Should I have set up different ports or done something else because my PC was set up to print from it? thanks Cathy
Hi Cathy, script errors fall into the (Software did not install correctly issue, most common). Uninstall the printer software from the notebook. Than go to the link below & download this registry cleaner.
Once finished restart your notebook. Install the Lexmark software from the CD or download it from Lexmark, there (may) be some updating within the downloaded software. http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:463:0:0
Click the above link. Pick your operating system & the link to download will open.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by
resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer
from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and
re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns
on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again
once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on
the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).
If that doesn't help, try the steps below:
