How to access USB socket on RHS of Asus k52d

Yeah if you dropped it you most likely did break a pin or the dislodged the connector from the solder. Re-soldering it isn't that hard, taking the laptop for someone inexperienced would be.

No ac or battery power

Here are the possibilities from start to finish

A. The outlet you are using is bad try another outlet.

B. The wire going from the outlet to the adapter box is defective (you may have a light on your adapter so if it is on the you know that this isn't the case).

C. The Power Adapter Circuitry or fuse has gone defective. This is NOT recommended opening up and troubleshooting!! SMPS crammed into a little box are DANGEROUS !!!

D. The cable going from the power adapter circuitry housing to the computer ends connector is defective. You can test the power adapter output voltage at the connector end if you know what your doing with a multimeter, otherwise also not advised to do!!

E. The connector on your power adapter assembly has gone defective and no longer mates properly with the female power jack on your computer.

F. The power jack on the computer may be damaged and no longer mates with the Male power adapter end.

G. The power jack on the computer's solder connections on the motherboard have become damaged.

H. The power jacks cable going to the motherboard is defective.

I. The motherboard has been damaged by any of the above conditions.

There you go 9 possibilities. All in all; get a new power adapter that matches Voltage and Current Requirements printed on the sticker underneath your laptop. If that doesn't work, then you would have to open up your laptop and get real technical with your power jack and motherboard.

Keyboard ribbon connector on the motherboard

Cut a piece of sturdy clear plastic packaging material (like memory packaging, etc.) or extra ribbon cable - cut it the width of your ribbon cable and long enough to handle.

Insert your ribbon cable into the socket and then insert the clear plastic or extra ribbon cable you cut to size into the socket above the ribbon cable.

This usually will hold the ribbon cable in the socket snuggly with enough pressure not to move and make a good contact for proper operation.
If you want cut and add a small piece of high temperature electrical tape to the socket, insert and cable. I do not recommend scotch tape as it becomes googey at high tempersture.

My power cord dose not seem to be charging my machine I got it a in nov. of last year and should still have a year warenty on it

Well you have one of three problems that would cause this issue. First is that the male connector on the charger was bent or somehow has come loose. I don't think the warranty would cover that in which you would need to purchase a replacement.
Second the female connector on the laptop has come loose from its connection to the motherboard. Your warranty would more than likely cover this so you would need to get ahold of them.
Third your battery has gone bad and will no longer hold a charge. Check the warranty to see if that is covered.
You can rule out if the charger is the problem by using a friends or even buying a replacement and trying it. You would be able to return this item if it did not work.

Power socket is loose

dc jack socket for Sony VAIO VGN-FW is very easy to loose, I think you can replace the cabled dc jack, no solder work, plug in and work, see this reference page:
the above item is with ground cable, it is known that sony FW uses both harnesses with or without ground cable, you can cut the ground cable directly if your laptop does not use it, or order from this page for the one without ground cable:
hope this can help you

Power chord must must moved continually to show charge

Yes, this is common, if the power cord at the connector is flexed continually then the metal fibres in the cord will break due to metal fatigue.
You can cut off the connector away from the break and fit a new connector on the cord, make sure the the wires are soldered correctly to provide the correct polarity at the connector.
The problem could be at the laptop where the connector plugs into the laptop's power socket. It could have a dry solder joint or the socket is faulty. This requires dismantling to repair.
The HP warranty would cover the normal warranty period and would not extended for worn parts.
