The Pink wire is negatively switched wire in the green plug, this should be cut and it should function all the time it's on. So when you put the brake on it grounds that wire and shuts the screen off (safety) If that doesn't work it will be switched by applied 12v.
I haven't looked at what other solutions say, that's just what I see from the diagram
my only question, though stupid, would be, did you plug the light wires into the stereo deck?
info for light hookup on page 3 of manual, if you don't have the manual, here it is. http://safemanuals.com/fullswf-JENSEN.php?type=.SWF&file=SWF/JENSEN/21-04-08-15-52-38-767636&langue=en&img_width=612&img_height=792&cat=vide
this an old thread, but yes there is an install kit containing a plastic extension that should be available from places that sell car stereos- wal-marts, car stereo stores, etc.
Check to make sure your vehicle does not have a factory amplifier. If you used a fit kit with wiring harness. try looking at how many wires were used in the factory unit compared to haw many you are using now. see if there are extra wires in the vehicle. If there is extra wires it is a pretty good clue the vehicle has an amplifier and will have to be rewired.
