We have a Rinnai REH-15F-2A natural gas heater (approx 15 yrs old). it has just started going out, it doesn't leak gas. is this something repairable or beyond repair? thanks tameka

Tameka, what you described sounds like the Thermocouple or Thermopile is failing. If your heater is a Flue-less heater, the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) which is part of the Pilot assembly, may simply need cleaning. Any of the causes I listed are repairable and would require a service technician to do it.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

Hi, Where can I get a thermal switch for convair 33mj wall heater

Hi.

If you are referring to the thermocouple, then part number is 880310. If you are looking for a different part, please refer to the part list below:

Convair Wall Furnaces

Part for this A/C can only be ordered contacting Convair, there are no third party online distributors. See: Convair Service

Still looking for a surge absorber for a Rinnai energysaver 551F in Australia .Part Number DSA302M

If you have a part number you should be able to go to any plumber/gas fitter and ask them to order it through Reece/Tradelink etc.
Try ringing Rinnai direct, parts and sales is on 1300 555 545, ask for the nearest stockist.
Most Rinnai spare parts are a number begining with 9 for Australia. The code you have sounds like a Rinnai Japan part number. Might cause confusion if you try and order it.

Try this link to a 551 service manual. It has a parts list and expolded diagram. Don't worry that it's a pommy site. The heaters are the same.

Replace the thermocouple, as it erodes away from the pilot flame over time.
