I cannot get my printer(pixma 310) to power on. I've checked the outlet and replugged the machine a few times...nothing. Is there a fuse that i can check. If so, where do I find it?

A repeating 5 orange flash is supposed to mean a foreign object inside the machine interfering with the print head. Check at both ends or the carriage track for a crumpled up wedge of paper. If nothing is there, check down the back paper feed path. If still nothing, it is possible the print head is overheating and is about to die.
Check if it's warm or cold. It could be a defective power adapter issue. Unplug and replug the power cord into the power outlet to reset it. Bypass any surge devices or power strips. Replug the power adapter into the printer. The printer should automatically turn on, otherwise press Power button.
If problem continues, then it could be a faulty power adapter problem. I'd suggest you to contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.
check first the power cable if properly connected to the back (or side) of the machine and on the power outlet. if its plugged in to a power extension, unplug it from the machine and from the power outlet, leave it like that for 2mins, and plug it back to the machine then directly to the wall outlet instead. if theres still no power, press down and hold the power button for 30secs, if nothing happens, the machine is dead, if its still under warranty, bring it to the store for free service.
Power down the Canon Pixma IP4300. Once it has shut down, leave it off for a few moments. Hold down both the "Resume" button and the "Power Button." When the printer begins to restart, release the "Resume" button but continue pressing "Power." Push in the "Resume" button twice, then let go of both the buttons. In a moment, a green light flashes a few times. Press the "Resume" button four times once the green flashing has finished. Push the "Power" button again until the printer shuts down. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart the device. The Canon Pixma IP4300 will now function properly. for more information http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/67824 hope this helps you.

Check all other carts. It might be that one (or more) carts are empty, too. Thats why the machine refuses to work properly.
Unplug from power, wait two minutes and replug again.
If it doesnt come up correctly the maincircuit baord might be defective due to a defective electrical part.
Do leave the machine always on power connection. You can turn it off by pressing the stand-by-fax button, but you have to keep the machine with power supplied. Set date and time. The machine runs some automatic cleaning cyles every 20 days to keep the nozzles alive and that prevents the permanent ph from drying out!
