Do you have a remote or have you changed the settings to delay the time the camera remains on?  The camera has a auto shut off to save the battery if you set it that way.  Try switching the on/off switch a couple of time to see if that helps, worse case scenario after all else fails, take out the battery - nevery remove the SD card while the camera is on.

My nikon D80 w lens Af 18/135 Has Err sign when press the shutter and also sign r09 on the no. Of exposure.. Urgently need help

Both items can be found in the D80 manual. The r09 is found on page 36 lower. It is the number of shots the buffer can handle. The Err is not a good thing. Turn off the camera, remove the battery then replace it, turn on the camera reset to factory bottom of page 129.

I have a D80 since 2 years and since last 1 week have been getting the 'Err' message. Initially, after referring to the manual & pressing the shutter release button, the camera responded only ONCE. ...

Hi sandeepbhat2, On page 129 of the D80 manual is the factory reset switch. Look on the left side of the camera there is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is a small reset button. Give that a try. If still it does not work you should call Nikon.

Sigma 18-300mm lens

The problem may be with the sigma's aperture ring. Try this:

- Turn camera off
- Turn the aperture ring clockwise and lock it
- Turn camera on

If this does not solve the problem, do it again but turn it counter-clockwise

Nikon D80 error message rEE

This may be due to the aperture ring in your lens. Try the following:

1. Turn off your camera
2. Move the aperture ring clockwise then lock
3. Turn on your camera and try again.

If this does not work, do the same thing again but turn the aperture ring counter-clockwise.
