Question about Olympus Stylus 790SW Digital Camera

1 Answer

Olympus 790SW 7.1 MP reads full 1GB memory card is full after 2 pictures

I've had this camera for nearly a year and always 'delete all' from the camera itself. The other day I uploaded all my pictures to iPhoto - it always comes up with two alternatives, 'keep originals' or 'delete originals', I choose to keep originals. I then decided to delete the photos off the camera, but was told that it could be tricky if I already had selected 'keep originals' when uploading. I was therefore recommended to delete all pictures from the camera symbol off the desktop.
When I then, 2 hours later tried to take pictures, the camera notified me that the card was full, after only two pictures.
Any idea how to solve this and restore the camera again?
I tried removing the memory card and the battery and then tried again, without result. I also connected the camera to the mac again and deleted the folder the pictures had been in, with no result.

I now tried to remove the memory card to go out and get a new one but cannot remove the memory card either now.
Any ideas are warmly welcomed!

Suggestion is to format the memory card and permanently delete all of the images from it. The card should then be able to be reused and you can start taking images again. To format the card go to Menu - setup and press ok - go to format and press ok - go to yes and press Ok. This will clear the card and you are back in business.

How do I tell if my Olympus 790SW is damaged or if the battery needs replaced?

Unfortuneately when water enters the camera this is usually a one way ticket, I recommend you remove the memory card to save your pictures, the liquid has already started eating into the ic pins eventually sending the camera into cascade failure that can take days, weeks, and months before the full extent is known. I recommend you consider replacing the camera.

CARD FULL with 3 pictures

Have you tryed eraseing / formating it in the 740?

Make sure the camara uses the card instead of internal memory
it might be that its saveing the images into the cameras internal memory witch is probably just about 3-4 shots.

I've had the Samsung L200 with the same Panasonic 1GB memory card for the last 3 years and it's been great, but all of a sudden today it started saying 'memory full' after only taking a few...

The camera is telling you that the internal memory is full. To get your card to work, you must clear it. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, your card should work unless you formatted it in the computer, in which case you'll have to format (completely erases it) it in the camera.

The internal memory is full; how do I correct this?

Delete pictures until it is empty. Use a higher capacity memory card and switch to it in the menus.

How many pictures can be stored on the internal memory of the KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE Zoom Digital Camera? Question : How many pictures can be stored on the internal memory of the KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE Zoom Digital Camera? Answer : The camera has 256 MB internal memory (185 MB available for image storage)*. The number of pictures that can be stored depends on the Picture Size (picture quality) setting selected on the camera as well as the level of detail of the subject. The following information can be used to approximate the average number of pictures that can be taken at each setting: 4.0 MP: 150 pictures 3.5 MP (3:2) : 167 pictures 2.1 MP: 270 pictures 1.1 MP: 451 pictures NOTE: Internal memory can store up to 1500 images, tagged as Favorites, optimized for viewing on the camera. Favorites as such are added to the camera through synchronization with EASYSHARE Software on your computer. See the camera user's guide, or click the Help button in EASYSHARE Software for more information.

Pictures on Internal Memory

Select Backup from the Setup menu to copy pictures from the internal memory to a memory card. This is a copy, not a move, leaving internal memory untouched. It also does not affect any favorites.

If you download the photos that are on the internal memory to your computer, the next time you take photos it should go to the memory card that is loaded. It worked for me, so I hope that helps
