Ryobi TS 1341 Can't open to operate

I was given a used TS1341 Ryobi Miter Saw. I cannot figure out how to open blade to operate. I've seen on different forums its supposed to have a yellow knob on the back, I don't see any. There is a threaded hole on the back of the saw, to the upper left of the torsion spring. Could this be where a knob is supposed to be? Other than that I can't for the life of me figure this out.

SOURCE: changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

Usually there is a piece of metal around the motor you use to lock the motor by pushing it in then you can use a wrench to loosen the bolt holding the blade on. make sure you put the new blade in the same way the old one is.

SOURCE: saw blade broke. motor won't run after changing

It would have cost more to have Sears fix the saw than I paid for it, so I got my meter out and by checking the voltage drops across all of the electrical connections in the saw , I determined that the on / off switch was defective. This switch is the same switch used to turn the lite on and off, so I took the switch out of the lite and used it in the saw. I ordered a new switch for the lite and will install it when the new one comes. Thanks for your interest and help. fletcher1

How to I fix a Ryobi Miter Saw Blade Guard which is not retracting?

Sound like a piece of wood may have driven the arm up which operates the guard, if you remove the screws holding the guard support plate to the saw you should be able to remove the guard assembly, the arm can then be re-bent down on the end so that it meets the angled plate on the back of the guard and pushes the guard through the entire stroke, the other reason could be a damaged guard, when the centre screw is removed the plates can be removed from the guard, note how the spring and plates are assembled prior to dismantling, check the inside centre of the perspex guard and ensure the 4 protrusions which engage with the drive plate haven't broken off, if sow the guard will need to be replaced, this may now be an obsolete part , if so purchase a Makita guard as they are the same

Ryobi TSS100L blade guard spring

I think what you are refering to is a circlip washer , and can only be
fitted with ( CIRCLIP PLIERS ) do you know any Michanics or Engineers as they are bound to have a set in their toolbox ,on the other hand you
can buy them. What they do is work in the opposit way normal pliers do
when you squees the handles together the jaws open, therefor opening
the (CIRCLIP ) and allowing you to place it over the pin and into the
recess. Hope this has been of some hellp goodluck T.C.

I just bought a brand new Ryobi saw from a neighbor but he couldn't find the manual. TS1141L 7 1/4" miter saw how do i get one?

Try this site. I could not find your exact model. If this is not close to what you have then there are many other models to chose from. Just click on "ryobi saw" above the manual to see the rest of the models. You should find something very similiar. Thanks and please rate.

you might try some silicone lubricant spray (available at auto supply) the stuff is very slippery. spary a little on the underside parts that rub on one another, try not to get any of the silicone on the top parts of your miter box as it will get on the wood that you are tyring to cut and it will leave a stain.

Is there a way of locking the blade and which way do I turn to remove the blade on a Ryobi TS-200 miter saw.

I put a long handled screwdriver through the teeth and brace it against the upper guard in the correct rotation, then the screw in the center of the blade will be reverse thread, turn to the right to take off.

Loose replacement blade

I completely removed the blade and put it back on, tightening the locknut, and now it works perfectly. The blade has not come loose and have used the machine for the last 3 months. The only thing I can think of is that somehow I didn't have the blade correctly installed in the first place, although it didn't wobble or anything.

Changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.
