Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies
Do you have a wireless-network setup or are you trying to connect directly from your laptop to the printer wirelessly?
If you have a wireless-network, you need to run the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer's front panel (press Setup, then select Network, then Wireless Setup Wizard) to connect the printer to your wireless network.
If you don't have a wireless-network, you'll need to connect your laptop to the printer using the printer's Ad-Hoc wireless network. To do this, turn on the printer's radio (select setup, then select Network, then Radio and select On).
Finally, run the setup program from the HP printer SW CD to finish the installation.
Your printer is wireless. If you already installed the software and can print via USB connection. Then all you need to do is add a device using the cd. But before that, make sure that the printer is connected to the router first.
Two ways to connect printer to router. You either use an ethernet cable to connect the 2 hardware. That will be more stable. Or run wireless wizard on your printer by pressing setup>network> run wireless wizard. Check if it is detecting your network. Connect to it. It would then say connected to network. To confirm that it is, print a network configuration page. Press setup again> network> view network settings> print network configuration page. Locate the IP address. Then on your computer open internet explorer and access it's graphic interface by typing the IP address inside the address bar. (where you see htttp://www..) if you pulled up info about the printer then it's time to load the cd again. THis time choose add a device then choose connection type network.

Follow the steps to refrsh the USB connection which will resolve your problem.

1. Right-click My Computer icon on the desktop, and then select
2. Click the Hardware tab.
3. Click the Device Manager button.
4. Click the (+) sign to the left of Universal Serial Bus controllers.
5. Right-click the device listed under Universal Serial Bus controller and select Uninstall.
6. Click 'OK' to confirm the removal of the device.
NOTE: Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all the devices under Universal Serial Bus Controller are removed.
7. Shut down the computer.
CAUTION: Ensure that the Shut Down option is selected, instead of the Restart option.
8. Wait for 5 seconds and then restart the computer. When the
computer restarts, a "Windows has detected new or added hardware" message window will open.
