The printer will print fine but when you load a doc and press scan the power light flashes for about 10 seconds then resumes to solid. I have repowererd - no joy

I have the same problem. Printer works. Copier works. However, press the 'scan' button and the 'on' light flashes for about 10 secs, then back to a solid light. No error msgs.

Hello Sujitta, As you are able to copy a document (Photocopy), its confirmed that the scanning hardware (the scanning module) is working fine.
Do you get any error message while trying to scan a document?

Hey guys this is a issue with communication between the devices and can be due to several reasons like incomplete installation(scanning drivers not installed. usb cable being too long. some ho **** on the pc already). follow the steps below and see if it works. if not you will have to mess with the registeries and thats the next level.

disconnect the usb from the printer>
insert the printer cd in the drive>
cancel the autorun that pops up>
Explore the cd from my computer>
locate the folder called ccc>
it will contain files called uninstalll1, uninstalll2,uninstalll3,uninstalll4>
run them all in the same order as above>
this will completely wipe off the hp device from the pc (it will take time each level taking more time then the one bofore it)
once done restart the pc>
reinsert the printer software cd and follow the onscreen instructions to reinstall the printer software again.

if this dosent work and u need steps for registery cleanup (usb entries for the psc 1315) let me know

I hope it works
cheers

I have a HP all in one printer ( 4215 ) that doesn't want to scan anymore. Every time i try to scan it tell me that i do not have the right drivers. Before I change from windows exployer7 to windows...

I think your printer has actually lost it's scanner driver, might it's corrupt or it could be some other issues. The only solution is re-installing the driver. If you still have the Hp Driver CD that came with the printer, install all the drivers using the CD or if you don't have that CD, you can still download it from the HP Official website. Click HERE for Windows XP driver and HERE for Windows Vista. For Windows 7 upgrade, you have to install the software patch, click HERE to download.
If you need further help. Let me know.
Good Luck.

I can't install a visual basic 6.0. because I've been accidentally deleted the some components of system32. most especially the config.nt

If my memory serves, VB 6 was the last dos/windows version and windows;nt was simply a text file that held some config parameters when it ran in nt mode. I woud suggest you update your software, but if you are unable to do that, you might try reloading nt from diskette or CD. I think NT also supported the undelete command. If it hasn't been very long since you erased it, you may be able to restore it with an undelete. I think that was the command name.

I recently had a HD crash and have replaced it with another HD using the same Windows XP OS. While trying to reload programs that were on the old HD to the replacement, some of the programs get this error...

I always receive a "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT" error message.

“C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-
DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose ‘Close’ to terminate the application.”

This error message is not caused by the installation CD-ROM, but rather by the
“Autoexec.nt” system file. Windows is unable to find this file when launching the
installation CD-ROM, the file most likely having been deleted by another application.

To resolve this problem, proceed as follows:
1. Go to “C:\Windows\repair” and find the file “Autoexec.nt”.
2.Copy this file to “C:\Windows\system32”.
3.Right-click the file “Autoexec.nt” that you have just copied, and select
“Properties”.
4.Tick the “Read-only” box and then click “OK”.

Good luck!

Toshiba DVD ROM SD M1302 driver

If you are using Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, NT or XP, and have an ATAPI/IDE CD/DVD drive, there is no driver needed (see Toshiba statement I have posted below). Under no circumstances, if DVD is properly installed and functional, will you need ANY driver!

If your DVD drive is a SCSI drive, then it may need drivers specific to the SCSI card you have installed (see the specs/manual or website for your card). You may also need the Adaptec SCSI setup, available at this address:

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/suppbyproduct.jsp?sess=no&language=English+US&cat=%2FTechnology%2FSCSI+Software&fromPage=driverindex

or use this address if you have a LOGIC based SCSI card or device:

http://www.lsilogic.com/

Now, if you meet the criteria for the first paragraph I wrote, and your PC does not load the driver automatically (after a reboot or two) then you have a PHYSICAL or HARDWARE problem. Either the DVD drive is improperly cabled, improperly installed or defective.

Those are all your options. See below, from Toshiba website
good luck

ATAPI CD-ROM and DVD Drivers

Toshiba's CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives do not require any unique device drivers for Windows '95/'98/2000/XP/NT.
After installing your drive and re-booting, your system should recognize your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. Win '95/'98/2000/XP/NT Operating Systems support all Toshiba ATAPI CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives natively.

DOS/Windows 3.x Device Drivers

This device driver is to be used with DOS/Windows 3.x operating systems. Do not use this driver with Windows '95, Windows '98, XP or Windows 2000 unless you are going to use your system in the REAL or MS-DOS Modes. Device drivers for Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows 2000, XP, OS/2, and NT operating systems are provided with the installation or setup software of each operating system.

DOS ATAPI Interface Driver
If you prefer using DOS click the link below to download a MS-DOS ATAPI interface driver.
atapi.exe

SCSI CD-ROM and DVD Drivers

SCSI interface drivers are written for the SCSI card you are using in your system, by the SCSI card manufacturer. They are not specific to your Toshiba drive and are not provided by Toshiba. If during installation Windows can not find the correct SCSI software driver for your SCSI card and you do not have the software driver that came with your SCSI card, contact your SCSI host adapter manufacturer.
