Question about Panasonic CT-36HL43 36" TV

Suddenly no sound & no picture overnight: is my TV dead?

My TV went from working perfectly to the sound and picture disappearing overnight. Screen lights up blue, channel numbers appear, sequence of channels has changed, grey/white static lines still appear on screen where channels have not existed before. It is not a problem with the remote; manual operation is same. No sound & no picture. Another TV plugged into same outlets works fine.
Is my TV dead ?

Thank you so much, Ginko, from GeorgieCat, Melbourne, Australia.

    I appreciate your advice.

I must say I wondered about the sudden demise.

But I guess it's hard to know when you don't have this sort of knowledge.

If you have static siugnal, sure TV is not dead.

Check the aerial cable, ensure it is well plugged in and getting signal.

If you are using a receiver box, check cables to TV and receiver (freeview, sat, cable etc.), try setting channels on receiver again, if it does not work but you get static, then either the cables or receiver are defective.

Test the TV on standalone , connecting it to an external antenna.
Tune again the channels, and save the preset.
If still no signal then the antenna socket on the TV may be defective.

Try using the TV with a DVD.

If you can watch DVDs, and TV is not keeping channels preset, and you tried all the above, at this point htere may be a fault in the tuner card inside tv.

Call the phone number listed on tv user manual to get support, and eventually repair it.

Front panel blocked or locked

RCA Entertainment Series 32" Plus Gold, GEMSTAR, xbox ready has been in the shop twice so far. Transformer replaced and 6 months later the picture suddenly had horizontal white lines that gradually spaced apart more from top to bottom and it had a gray hue and fuzzy, but I still watched it for 3 months that way. Today I turned it on and about a minute later I heard a loud crackling sound coming from the back and the picture disappeared, screen went black. Is it worth fixing again? Quasar TV sp 2724E Loses the picture

Sounds like a failed vertical amplifier circuit. This is normally primarily contained in an integrated circuit mounted on a heatsink.
There are other possibilities along the line but the one above is the most likely.
Now all you need is a TV repair shop that is still in buisness.
