LUXMEDIA 7203 - Camera display "WARNING"

Each time I turn on my PRAKTICA LUXMEDIA 7203 digital camera the following appears on the view screen -

WARNING! FOR FACTORY USE PRESS MENU KEY TO QUIT date/time RIGHT KEY TO ENTER.

Neither MENU or RIGHT key have any effect and I can't turn the camera off with the button - I have to remove the battery each time.

HI,
The camera would require service at the service centre , as nothing much can be done at home.
The problem most likely is the power supply capcitor or the system bios chip, that controls the interanl functions of the camera.
Was the camera dropped, or did get wet, after which the problem started.

Thanks
proton

You can send your query to tech support at the following link so they can give you an estimate of repairs. if the camera is in 1 yr of purchase the manufacturer covers it fully.

Hi,

It would seem that your camera is doing a self reset. This could be brought about by a failing memory battery (not the main battery). They are often coin size and has a life span of about a year or so.

Should this not address your concern and/or you would prefer a service center in UK, pls click here.

Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi, I could not find out how to reset this camera.
The main problem is its not responding to any of the buttons. So, if I were you I would try some following things:
1. take off the battery 2. press menu button for few secs and also on/off button few seconds (this may discharge if anything is charged inside) 3. after the battery are taken out, try to short circuit +ve and -ve ends of the battery holder in the camera.

I am not sure if they will work. But definitely worth a try before taking it for a repair...

:)

Take out the batteries for a while. Insert them again and try to reset your camera to factory settings. If you are using a SD card replace it. If the problem continues your camera need to be serviced.

Have not got laptop with windows 7 and cannot transfer photos from Praktica Luxmedia 6103 digital camera to laptop

You do not need Windows 7 - any functioning windows PC or Mac that can accept a USB cable should be able to see your camera's memory folders. Put the camera on and 1- On a PC they appear at Start/My computer/ and in a folder somewhere within E: or D: click on folders within folders to find and copy your photo folder manually. and paste it on your computer hard drive.
2.
On a Mac it appears on the desktop.

Try to download and use picasa to import photos.

How do i take flash off my camera?

Do you mean turn it off? I hope you do because you cannot physically remove it. Check the manual - but some cheaper cameras give you the flash whether you want it or not. Go to Tech Support at the web site there may a solution failing that I guess you could tape it over with insulating tape.
