Hi, problem is how to access battery or jumper. Where is it on my motherboard? Can it be accessed from the underneath of the machine or do I have to strip the whole thing down?

You can reset by putting the jumper to 2-3 position or by removing the battery and starting the system

Do not waste your time looking for a CMOS battery to reset password, it will not work. The solution is to take or send the laptop to a Toshiba service Center and have the password erased or reset. You may have to show proof of ownership of the laptop and you will have to pay for the service if the laptop is out of warranty.

Previous password issue

You'll need to reset your password. Just access your CMOS battery on your motherboard, remove it for a while and you'll have reset your entire BIOS to its defaults, next, power up your computer and you should be good to go...

Unknown hp power-on password

Did you do all these steps in order?

1) Remove the computer power pack battery. Remove the keyboard.
2) Remove the RTC battery. Wait 5 minutes. (I would wait longer, maybe 15 minutes.)
3) Reinstall the RTC battery. Reinstall the keyboard.
4) Plug the AC power into the computer. (DO NOT INSTALL THE POWER PACK BATTERY AT THIS POINT)
5) Turn on the computer.

This should reset the password and also all CMOS settings.

Laptops Acer e lock activated / password unknown

Fastest way slick and reinstall. That's why I never in 25 years of computer support never enabled passwords that deep. Some system have a hardware reset buried inside but it takes a tech to get to it. Some time removing the CMOS battery will do it. It would be easier to hack the OS and get into the Admin password than a hardware passwork.
