Question about Olympus Camedia C-765 Digital Camera

Lost pics I had over 400 pics on a 512 card and some video. Was looking at them one night on the "quick view" menu. Took more pics the next day no probs. Later same day, put memory card in tower to look at on pc and it said folder was empty. So put card back in camera and no pics! I have not formatted or erased anything but pics have disappeared.

I think your card is corrupted if it is corrupted it is not possible to get back the photos so you need to buy another card for your camera ....but have a try from the given link to recover the photos

Hello

Looks like you have managed to corrupt your memory card, this is normally caused by the card being taken out of a camera/computer while data is still being written to the card.

You may be able to recover the images using a file recovery program.

You could try some of the free ones they seem to work ok from my experince.

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones:

I hope you didn't format the card because that erases the pics forever. You could get a separate card reader and try to download them that way. You could take the card to a store like Walmart and plug the card into one of their picture making machines. When your pics show up, you can print them or even make a cd of them.

Hi. Turn on the camera and go into the menu and find the reset function. Reset it. That may solve your problem. If it does not, you could go for a repair or a replacement. Some shops will give you a free estimate. Joe

I can view the pics i take clearly but when i switch modes to take a pic the screen is black and i hear a clicking sound.. olympusfe-220

I beleive your Memory Card is the problem. Take it out and leave it out when turning it on and see what it does. Mine was doing the same thing untill I did the above and it took a picture with internal memory just fine. If it works, then you need to format the memory card using your camera setup menu. When you turn the camera on with memory card installed quickly push the green play button and it should stay on for you to see the menu.

Did you remember to format the card in the camera before trying to use it with this camera? Anyway, if indeed pictures exist on the card, take it to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture maker machine and it will be able to retrieve your pics. You can print them or even make a cd of them.

You problem set your camera to use internal memory only. Set the memory function to memory card only and all pictures will go to the memory card until it is full. You can probably still transfer your pic files from internal memory to your card.

Photos on camera review but not memory card

before unplugging any usb device from the computer... it is best to safely remove before unplugging the device...

i used to just unplug before i lost over 200 pics. was able to recover using recovery software but the whole process took about 3 hours to do. since using safe remove.. not a single loss

some pros suggest formatting the card on regular basis to also clean the card of file fragments... but once card is formatted, the pics are not recoverable... be careful
