Hello

This is a nice easy one.

To open the back cover, you need to find the rewind crank, this is on the left hand side as you look through the camera.

The knob ontop of the camera has a small black handle that folds out from the middle, unfold this then grasp the whole knob and lift it up away from the body of the camera you will feel the a spring tension and the keep pulling and the back cover will pop open.

This link will let you download the owners manual for this camera,

I hope this helps.

This lens should fit an older SLR Canon with the FD style lens mounts. I believe all SLR canon cameras were the FD style until 1987. Then they switched to the EF mounts. The last FD style mount was used on the T60 in 1990.

I have been offered a SiGMA 400mm F/5.6 manual lens for a minolta mount. Will it fit my camera? Cheers Pete

Minolta had two lens mounts. One for manual focus SLR film cameras and one for Auto Focus SLR Maxxum film and digital SLR cameras. Sony uses Minolta Maxxum lens mount.
If the Sigma 400 f5.6 lens was made for Minolta X-700 series, XG, series, XD series, SRT series, then it will not fit on your camera.

I cannot find where the memory card or film goes in this camera.

Your camera takes APS film. It's an obsolete system these days but the film and processing are still fairly easy to get.

The film loads into a compartment on the bottom of the camera; you open the compartment by turning the latch on the right hand end of the camera (as viewed from behind). The battery fits into a small compartment on the lower left back of the camera.

WHICH LENS WILL GIVE THE SAME RESULT OF 50 MM LENS IN FILM MODEL

To figure the equivalent coverage comparable to a film camera, multiply the number of mm by 1.5. Example: a 50mm lens will be like a 75mm lens on a digital camera.

Try a different CF card, preferably a new one.

Low battery warning

What type of batteries did you buy?

For digital cameras, you want to use batteries with high milliamp hour (mah) rating: "2500 mah" if they are rechargeable.

If you bought regular batteries, you want to use good quality. Look for the "e2" or "better for digital equipment" type.

Does the camera have a DC power plug option? Try taking pictures with it plugged in if it does. If it still malfunctions with power right from the wall, then you bought a bad camera.

Minolta 7000 SLR

The Konica-Minolta 5d, and 7d, both discontinued but available used on ebay and other places will work with your AF lenses, as well as all the sony alpha camera bodies. KM sold their camera business to sony, and most of the whole maxuum/alpha/dynax group of engineers went with the sale to Sony. I had a 7000, and an 8000i, and all my lenses are quite happy on the 7D I picked up a few months ago on ebay.

Battery problems

Check the battery contacts inside the camera. Use a strong light, and if you see corrosion (black or greenish areas) on the contacts, rub them lightly with a pencil eraser until they are shiny.
