Check your wireless adapter is on... the switch is on the front of your laptop and you should show a blue light when it's on, also go into device manager and see network adapters.. you should have 2 (the wire one built-in and your wireless network adapter.. if you only have one network adapter, check the front and see if the light indicating the status of your wireless network adapter is amber.. (if it's showing amber and you're sure it's in the on position you may have a motherboard problem and you may need to send the system back (I just had one of those with a compaq computer and since the item was within warranty the fixed in a week)
if your wireless adapter light is blue and you see your wireless adapter in device manager follow this instructions and you should be ok,
