How do I transfer files and photos?

I have had this phone a number of years now and the screen cracked and broke underneath this week so there is just a black splodge there now. I would really like to take my photos (probably a couple of hundred if I'm honest) and a couple of other things off and put onto my computer. I can't actually see the screen now though to see if I need to press anything! I have plugged the USB lead in and absolutely nothing happens. I am a bit clueless about these things and was hoping someone could let me know if this is possible. Thanks very much.

You didn't say what you've connected the USB to.
Connect the phone to your PC or laptop via the USB. Depending on which photo program/gallery you are using, it may already be set to automatically collect/draw the photos from the phone. You might need the phone to be powered on, of course.

Best you give us a bit more info. What phone model, what computer operating system (Win 7, Win 10?), which photo program/gallery, does the phone power on, etc. etc?

SOURCE: samsung tocco problems

use the software that comes with the phone samsung pc studio 3 very easy to use. You may have a problem with itunes as it stores files in a format that can only be read by Iphones/ipods/itunes so it may be best to navigate on your pc to where the tunes are ie my music or another place on your hard drive. then using the samsung software to put the music/pics on your phone.

Download photos to pc

If you're photos are saved in your phone's internal memory, transfer them first to the memory card.
To move files from the phone to the card, perform the following steps:
1. At the main screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap My Files.
3. Tap Phone at the top of the screen.
4. Tap the desired folder.
5. Tap the desired file.
6. Tap Options.
7. Tap Move to.
8. Tap Memory card.
9. Tap the desired folder.
10. Tap Open.
11. Tap Move to.
Once you have transferred your photos to the card, the next step would be transferring those photos from the card to your computer.
To move files from the card to the computer, perform the following steps:
1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the top of your phone.
2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on your computer.
3. Click File Transfer on the phone.
4. If required, tap OK on the phone to exit to the main screen.
5. On the computer, in the Removable Disk dialog box, click to select Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer, and click OK.
6. Navigate to the file on your memory card that you wish to copy.
7. Right-click the file and click Copy.
8. Navigate to the desired folder on your computer.
9. Right-click and click Paste.
10. When you are finished transferring files, tap Back on the phone.
11. Tap OK to exit the card reader mode.
12. Disconnect the USB cable from your phone and from your computer.

Replacing a LCD screen for a cellphone-Sanyo 8300

Yes, you can transfer pics to your PC. You will need a USB cable (that must have come with your handset).

Simply right click on 'START' button on your PC, and select 'Explore'.
Next scroll down on the left panel and find the drive that corresponds to your device . (It will usually be found after your DVD/CDROM drives). Now click the (+) next to the entry to expand the folders. Browse to the folder that holds your pics, right click and select (use right click and CTRL button to select more than one photo) and copy.
Next browse to a folder on your PC where you would like to store the pics, right click and paste.
You can delete files/pics from your device in the same way.

However, to accomplish all this, your device will have to be detected by the PC, and in some cases, you may have to install the device software on your PC to accomplish this.

Another alternative, is to transfer all the files on your phone to your memory card. (Please read instruction manuals on how to do this, as procedure varies from phone to phone). Now using a card reader attached to your PC, you can transfer files in the same way as described above.

Replacing the screen can be a bit tricky if you are not experienced in this, and best left to a professional..

Hope that helps. And don't forget a Fixya rating if my solution helped in any way !

Cheers!
