If you do get power from the AC adapter then the possible cause of the issue is the charger-port-to-battery circuit. if you have a volt meter, plug the charger to the camera and an outlet, let the volt meter touch the battery terminals left and right, and see if you will get power.

if yes, then just leave the battery charging, new batteries may require longer time to be charged.

if no power, then this means that there is a possible port on the camer'as DC-in port or the circuit going to the camera.

hope this helps, if you have other questions just let us know

HI,

Please try connecting the video recorder with ac adapter plugged in.IF you still don't get power then the fault is with circuit inside and will need a physical presence of a tech to fix it

How does this camera take videos?

If I understand your question correctly, you are wondering how to connect this camera to an AC power source to do long term video capture. This would also be helpful for bulb exposure. Unfortunately, natively this camera does NOT support power over an AC outlet (240V or 115V in North America). Best solution I can find is to build a battery pack for it, but that might not work as I think the camera requires the battery door to be shut to function. You could likely build a battery pack and make it work, but you would likely need to do some case modifications.
If you want AC powered camera, you normally need to step into the higher end DSLR's (the mirror-based DSLR cameras). I do not believe that any of the PEN series has power over AC or over USB.
This camera supports up to 7 minutes recording in Video mode (due to an AVI limitation). I think the limitation is moreso in the compression algorithm used, but 7 min is the max it will record so having AC power isn't really required in my opinion. Bulb mode photography goes up to 30 minutes, so that may require some fancy power adapters. If you took the camera apart and swapped out the crystal for a slower cycle crystal you could get longer video and bulb exposure at the cost of no longer having an accurate clock or if you hack the firmware, but neither method is supported by Olympus (nor me) and goes beyond the scope of the original question.
At the time of this post, the E-P5 was the latest in the PEN series and that one does NOT support power over AC or USB.

When i put a tape in to watch,or record, the video camera beeps and C:3123 appears i have tried everything

  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
  3. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
  4. Turn on the camcorder.
  5. If the error message appears, service may be required.
I found many people saying that they had this error and "smacked" the camera... and then it started working. This would tell us that it is a mechanical error... so, at your own risk, if the above steps don't work, I would try smacking it a bit, maybe something mechanical is "stuck".

Will my ac adapter chardge my camera? I have the Olympus c-50 (zoom)

No. You do have the battery charger, right? If not, get one
FYI
When connecting the AC adapter to the camera’s DC-IN jack, be careful not to
catch the plug on the jack’s cover.
● If the battery power runs out while the camera is connected to a computer,
image data may be corrupted. It is recommended that you use the optional AC
adapter when transferring images to a computer. Do not disconnect or connect
the AC adapter while the camera is communicating with the computer. Or just make sure your battery is fully charged!
● Power is consumed continuously during the conditions described below.
This could reduce the number of pictures that can be taken.
•When the monitor is turned on.
•Repeated auto-focus by pressing the shutter button halfway.
•Repeated power zoom adjustments.
•When communicating with a computer.
● Do not remove or load the battery and/or do not disconnect or connect the
AC adapter while the camera is turned on. Doing so could damage the camera’s settings or functions.

The on off button is stuck in. is there anything you can do or do i just buy a new one.

Reset the camera
  1. Turn off the camera, if possible.
  2. If an SD memory card is installed, remove the card.
  3. Remove power from the camera as described below:
    • If you are using only batteries for power, open the battery/memory card door and remove both batteries.
    • If you are using only the HP AC power adapter, disconnect it from the camera.
    • If you are using both batteries and the HP AC power adapter, remove both batteries and the power adapter.
  4. Wait for 15 seconds. Then reinsert the batteries and close the battery/memory card door or reconnect the HP AC power adapter to the camera. If you are using both batteries and AC power, try each method separately.
Turn the camera on and off. If the issues is not resolved do the following

Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply
  1. Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply. Ensure that the AC power supply is connected to a working power outlet.
  2. Try turning the camera on.
  • If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions in this document.
If the is not resolved ,then repeat setps 1 to 4 abiove but remove the batteries and keep the AC power adapter connected.

The only functioning modes are the picture viewing & set up modes

Have Sony DSC-P73 with exact problem. Only turns on in SETUP mode and when switches to all other modes camera shuts off usually with lens extended. Have tried new batteries - new memory stick - new everything and nothing helped. I just took out the batteries and attached the AC ADAPTER and all works perfectly now so problem is with either batteries - battery compartment or battery connections. As long as you do not need a "PORTABLE" camera, using AC Adapter solves this problem :)

Samsung s1030 will not retract lense and bleeps 3 times then no response - batteries are fully charged

Try hard reset . Remove the batteries and insert new batteries . Sometimes this may work

Another chance is that lens is struck

* Carefully inspect around it for dirt or debris

* If you see any dirt or debris around the lens, use canned air to gently blow it away

* After removing dirt and debris, turn the camera on and off

This should work.

Try this alternate solution (got information from HP )

  • Turn off the camera, if possible.
  • If an SD memory card is installed, remove the card.
  • Remove power from the camera as described below:
  1. If you are using only batteries for power, open the battery/memory card door and remove both batteries.
  2. If you are using only the AC power adapter, disconnect it from the camera.
  3. If you are using both batteries and the AC power adapter, remove both batteries and the power adapter.
  • Wait for 15 seconds. Then reinsert the batteries and close the battery/memory card door or reconnect the AC power adapter to the camera. If you are using both batteries and AC power, try each method separately.

  • Turn the camera on and off. If the lens does not retract correctly or the camera does not turn on,

You need to take to service center .

Thanks for using FIxya
