Question about Televison & Video

10 Answers

I have a Hyundai Q320 TV. I just got Comcast cable with a Motorola Box/DVR. I need a 5 digit code so I can use the Comcast remote with the TV. I can't seem to find one and it doesn't come up when I use the remote to search. Can you find it for me?

I tried the 3 codes you recommended and found 1 more in the remote manual. Still no luck. Any other codes out there?

  • scooter607 Oct 04, 2008

According to the Motorola remote instructions, it must be a 5 digit code. Any other possibilities?

  • scooter607 Oct 04, 2008

I have tried 10849,31254,10178, and 11017 and none of those are it. I have looked at the manual for the TV, the remote and Comcast remote. Could that Hyundai Q320/Q321 also be private labeled for another more common brand whose 5 digit code I can use and who does Hyundai private label for if any. It's frustrating to use multiple remotes.

Dear,

Have you tried to just do a code scan on the remote.
If there is a code for your tv, the scan will find it.

regards,

dont rate it until u satisfied with it

Posted on Oct 04, 2008

  • SALMAN NASEER Oct 04, 2008

    dear,

If the scan didn't find it, then there probably isn't a code
in the remote for your TV.
If it's an older remote you might try to get a newer one..
The newer remotes have codes in them that the
    older ones didn't have!!!!

    regards,

download tat pdf and get ur code

To program the remote to work with your tv, you need to take the following steps:

    1. Find the code or codes for your TV from Comcast's list [PDF]

    2. Turn your TV on

    3. On the remote, press and release the TV key on the very top of the remote.

    4. Press and hold the Setup key, until the "TV" key flashes twice, then release the "Setup" key.

    5. Using
the number pad, enter in the first 4-digit code found next to your
television brand on the chart. If you do this correctly the "TV" key
will flash twice. Now it's programmed!

    6. Now point the remote at your TV and press the Power key. If the TV turns off, you're golden. If not, try again with the next code on the list.

Try doing this:

1. Choose an unused or unneeded button on the “silver” remote to be the 30-second skip command. I used my “A-lock” button, and in retrospect that’s probably not the best choice, but I wanted it near the other DVR controls. Other choices are the PIP buttons at the bottom, or the “help” button.
2. Press the “Cable” button at the top of the remote to put it into Cable Box control mode.
3. Press and hold the “Setup” button until the “Cable” button blinks twice.
4. Type in the code 994. The “Cable” button will blink twice.
5. Press (do not hold) the “Setup” button.
6. Type in the code 00173.
7. Press whatever button you want to map the 30-second skip command to.
Hope that helps....

I've been searching for the code as well but unfortunately, the remote that came with it doesn't have one. What I can suggest you is to use a universal remote or a newer remote with good extra features that you can enjoy. You can visit HERE

Hi, The 5 digit is unavailble to this TV so, try this.

  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. On the remote control, press TV once.
  3. Then press and hold SETUP until the TV key blinks twice, then release the SETUP key.
  4. Using the number pad, enter 9-9-1. The TV key will blink twice.
  5. Aim the remote control at the TV and slowly alternate between pressing Power and TV. Stop when the TV turns off after pressing the POWER key. This means that a working code has been found.
  6. Press the SETUP key once to lock in the code. The TV key will blink twice.
Note: Use the AUX key to program the remote for an audio receiver or DVD player.
Checking the CodesIf you have set up the remote control using the Searching For Your Code procedure, you may need to find out which four-digit code is operating your equipment. For example, to find out which code is operating your TV:
  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. On the remote control, press TV once. Then press and hold Setup until the TV key blinks twice, then release Setup.
  3. Enter 9- 9- 0. The TV key will blink twice.
  4. To view the code for the first digit, press 1 once. Wait 3 seconds and count the number of times the TV key blinks (e.g., 3 blinks = 3) and write down the number in the left- most TV Code box (at end of this section).
Note: If a code digit is "0", the selected mode key will not blink.
Repeat step 4 three more times for the remaining digits. Use 2 for the second digit, 3 for the third digit, and 4 for the fourth digit. To check another device code, repeat steps 1 to 5, but substitute the AUX key for the auxiliary device you are checking.

    no problem...

those codes where from comcast. if it still did not work then try the other options that other fixya techs gave out, and as a last resort, you may want to call Comcast to have them give you a specific code for the set if they have a unique one.

Through Amazon a Brookstone's "Jumbo Universal Remote" was delivered - there is no identification of who manufactures this remote. We need to have it control an AT&T-California cable box which was...

I happen to be a Jumbo Universal remote Expert here at Fixya, so I hope I can help. It is possible that this remote just won't run your Motorola cable box, but I wouldn't give up until I had tried the codes from the list in the manual, as well as run through the auto-setup feature of the remote for CBL and for SAT, where it just tries all the cable box codes one at a time.

I was able to find a working motorola codes for an Innovage Jumbo Remote, a three digit code remote you might as well try: 051.

You have probably tried the codes for Motorola (031) and GI (000, 032) from the manual using these steps:

1. Turn on the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Locate a 3-digit code for your device. (000, 031 & 032 for example)
3. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(CBL) for approximately three seconds. The POWER INDICATOR illuminates.
4. Enter the 3-digit code for your device within 30 seconds. The POWER INDICATOR shuts off.
5. Press the ON /OFF button to verify correct code entry. If the device shuts off, the code was entered correctly. If the device does not shut off, repeat steps 3-4, using a different code located on the Code List.

If those are still a bust, try the GI SAT codes 018 & 019.

Have you tried the following steps with both CBL and then SAT to search it's database?

1. Turn on the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(SAT or CBL) until the POWER INDICATOR on the remote control illuminates. The remote control is in programming mode.
3. Press and release ON /OFF. The POWER INDICATOR on the remote control flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.
4. Press CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN repeatedly until the device turns off.
5. When the device turns off, press any key to store the code.
6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.

I hope that helps.

Toshiba 52hm84 DLP-HDMI Component has been compromised?

This is a wild guess, but I believe that you are being **** by the movie industry. The HDMI protocol includes a form of DRM (Digital Rights Management) for high resolution content called: High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection Basically this means that the media (disk or broadcast) instructs the player (in your case the cable box) to insist that any downstream devices (your TV) is industry and DRM compliant. Specifically this evil protection scheme is designed to plug the analog hole and make it impossible for you to record or copy the movie by using an analog output from your TV. This even restricts the size of the TV you can play the movie on, thus preventing pubs and bars from displaying the content on big screen TVs without paying royalties. The message means that the manufacturer of your TV has refused to toe the industry line. 1984 Anyone ? Martin

comcast sucks and its tech support are a bunch of idiots. the book that comes with the remote is wrong (and for some reason no one in tech support knows this). the remote requires 5 digit codes and all the codes in the book are 4. typing the number 1 in front of any of the codes in the book, for any device and manufacturer, should fix this problem.
