Hey

for this you gotta now the following:

1. ssid : this is the name of your access point (router)
2. key/passphrase: this is the network security key you configure your router with (if your router has a default configuration (the one that came with the device right out of the box which is not recommended) your key may be a blank key ... you simply don't have one set up.
3. the encryptation method: wep, wpa, wpa2. this goes again to how you have your router configured and if your don't have anything configured with your router in regards to encriptions (not recommeded) you may simply not have any encryptation that you need to select here.

important:
make sure your wireless adapter is working and is on:
your laptop may have a switch on the front to turn your wireless adapter on (i don't know what model of laptop you have so you may want to check the user manual that came with laptop to find the switch) or you may have to turn it within windows. (also check the user manual of your laptop)

now that you have the info needed and your adapter is on there are 2 ways to do this:

1. using your beloved acer empowering technology:
I found this that may guide you through the process of setting up your wireless connection
ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/empowering_technology/acer_enet_management.pdf

look under the title: SETUP A NEW PROFILE and follow the instructions..

now if acer empowering does not work... you can try to setup your wireless connection with windows,

2. Using windows vista to setup your wireless connections:
I'm assuming you're using vista so here's a set of instructions with pictures you may want to take a loot at and follow

http://www.home-network-help.com/vista-to-connect-wireless-network.html

let me know how it went!
if problems.. post what you see and we'll try to give you hand. (please give as many details as possible)

Will not start up

hi , Reuben

I would suggest you try safe mode.
Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started. The words "Safe Mode" appear in the corners of the display to identify which Windows mode you are using. If an existing problem does not reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers as possible causes.
If you don't know the cause of the problem, you can use the process of elimination to help you find the problem. Try starting all of the programs you commonly use, including the programs in your Startup folder, one by one, to see if a program might be the cause of the problem.
Follow the steps to boot the computer in safe mode with networking:
1. Restart your computer if it is powered on.
2. Tap the F8 key after your computer initially powers on.
3. Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu you can stop tapping.
4. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
5. Select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter.
6. You should see drivers loading, and then please wait.
7. You should then be at the Welcome Screen.
8. Logon to your computer using an account with Administrator privileges.

Are 2002 Aztec computers compatible

I am assuming you are discussing the 2002 Pontiac Aztec, the early crossover with the rather distinctive look. I would assume that since they were made by the same manufacturer and they used the same parts that their computers should be compatible. I can't say so for certain as you haven't provided much information, but, unless one of the Aztec owner swapped out the original computer and replaced it with an updated device, the computers should be compatible.

If you are thinking of trying to swap computer chips, I would advise you to wait and let a professional do it at an independent shop. The reason I suggest this is simple, unless you know how to access the computer chip correctly, you risk accidentally ruining it. If you handle the replacement chip incorrectly it is entirely possible that for a stray static charge to ruin the chip by blowing out a trace. Also, if you damaged the socket from which the original chip was removed then it is possible that you will not be able to reinsert the new device without bending any leads on the bottom. If the leads are damaged, then the new computer won't work.

Even if the new computer chip and the original chip were already installed in installable cases (the way most desktop computer chips are installed), it is possible that when you removed the computer, you might have damaged the receiving socket which means that when you go to insert the new computer carrier it won't work correctly because a few or many of the pins on the bottom of the board won't sit correctly.

What is the difference between windows 7 editions: starter, home basics, home premium, ultimate, professional, interprice?what is the difference between service pack 1 & 2???pc

Since October 31, 2013, Windows 7 is no longer available in retail (except for the Professional edition preinstalled):[6]
Windows 7 Starter Windows 7 Starter is the edition of Windows 7 that contains the fewest features. It is only available in a 32-bit version and does not include the Windows Aero theme. The desktop wallpaper and visual styles (Windows 7 Basic) are not user-changeable. Microsoft originally intended to restrict users of this edition to running three simultaneous applications but this limitation was dropped.[7]This edition was available pre-installed on computers, especially netbooks, through system integrators or computer manufacturers using OEM licenses.[1][8][9] Windows 7 Home Basic Windows 7 Home Basic was available in "emerging markets", in 141 different countries.[10] Some Windows Aero options are excluded along with several new features.[1] Home Basic, along with other editions sold in emerging markets, include geographical activation restriction, which requires users to activate Windows within a certain region or country.[11] Windows 7 Home Premium This edition contains features aimed at the home market segment, such as Windows Media Center, Windows Aero and multi-touch support.[12] Windows 7 Professional This edition is targeted towards enthusiasts and small-business users.[1] It includes all the features of Windows 7 Home Premium, and adds the ability to participate in a Windows Server domain.[1] Additional features include support for up to 192 GB of Random-access memory (increased from 16 GB),[13] operating as a Remote Desktop server, location aware printing, backup to a network location, Encrypting File System, Presentation Mode, Software Restriction Policies (but not the extra management features of AppLocker) and Windows XP Mode.[1] Windows 7 Enterprise This edition targeted the enterprise segment of the market and was sold through volume licensing to companies which have a Software Assurance contract with Microsoft.[1] Additional features include support for Multilingual User Interface(MUI) packages, BitLocker Drive Encryption, and UNIX application support.[1] Not available through retail or OEMchannels, this edition is distributed through Microsoft Software Assurance (SA).[1] As a result it includes several SA-only benefits, including a license allowing the operating of diskless nodes (diskless PCs) and activation via VLK.[14] Windows 7 Ultimate Windows 7 Ultimate contains the same features as Windows 7 Enterprise, but unlike the Enterprise edition, it was available to home users on an individual license basis.[1] Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional users are able to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate for a fee using Windows Anytime Upgrade if they wish to do so.[1] Unlike Windows Vista Ultimate, the Windows 7 Ultimate edition does not include the Windows Ultimate Extras feature or any exclusive features as Microsoft had stated.[1] All editions will receive Mainstream Support (new features and bug fixes) until January 2015 and Extended Support (security updates) until January 2020.[15]

Where can I purchase a replacement remote control for tv in WA

Exact OEM replacement remote you can try the manufacturer or www.replacementremotes.com. No store will carry what you are looking for, but you can find universal remotes in any electronic store on the planet. Wal-mart, RadioShack, BestBuy, etc. Whatever is closest to your location. Good rule of thumb is if they sell TVs, they sell universal remotes.

Removing bluetooth chip

Without knowing what the desktop computer motherboard is, I\'d only be guessing as to location of Wi-Fi chipset.
However even if I knew the motherboard manufacturer name, and model number; the point is Moot.

A) You remove that Wi-Fi chip, and kiss the motherboard goodbye.
It\'s designed into the circuitry of the motherboard.

Isn\'t going to be jumper wires taking it\'s place, and making connections to circuit traces on the motherboard.

B) Do you have a wireless router?
Dunno.
Do you have a wireless connection set up?
No.

You can use just a LAN connection. (Hard wired)

C) Suggest if having a Bluetooth option on your motherboard is not an option then use a different motherboard that doesn\'t have that option.

How do i reset my computer to an earlier date?

Most computers have a RTC or "real time clock" in the BIOS. BIOS (or "Basic Input Output System") controls how data gets into and out from the processor (via keyboard, disk, etc.). Be careful making changes. The BIOS is normally only accessable when the computer is powered on or reset, and then only while performing the POST (or "Power On Self Test"). At this time your screen may display text describing memory, drives, controllers, etc. Some machine have a "silent boot" enabled which displays a manufacturer's graphic or logo instead of this data. It is during this time the the BIOS may be accessed. Depending on the manufacturer of your computer, a key (Delete, Escape, F1 or some other) or key combination (ALT + F1, ALT + S, or some other) will be needed. It is required to press the key or key combination prior to the Operating System loading message(s). This can be done be repeatedly pressing the key (or key combination) once every second (or two) during the POST. Holding the key(s) down the entire time - or pressing them too often will result in an error, and require starting over again.

Once the BIOS screen is presented, you will have to scroll the entire page(s) to find the clock. Most BIOS brands have more than just a single page of settings. Using the the up, down, left, right, PgUp, PgDn & Enter keys - navigate to the clock hours and minutes and adjust as needed. Make sure that you SAVE changes before exiting the BIOS screen. Upon exit, the computer will reboot with your settings.

Your Operating System may also provide a way for you to change the system time (and date) as well. Try clicking on the time / date to see if it will bring up a dialog box that allows you to make the change.

I hope this helps and good luck! If my answer was helpful, please rate it "4 thumbs up" Thanks!
