Hi there,

if the motor hums, that means you have power to the dishwasher and it's just the display that does not work.

if the motor is not running, it's definitely the control board.

most dishwashers in Canada are wired into the electrical circuit in the house, so if the power goes out, it take the dishwasher with it.

Is this a typical problem with this model dishwasher?

fuses do not blow from power surges or spikes
only from excessive current flow
for your own safety ,get in an accredited electrician to check the circuity of the house and then with that certificate in hand you can go back to sears and demand a refund of your money for a defective unit
their requirement is a ways of getting around a refund payment

Dishwasher won't open top drawer or turn on--

Wonder if you tried to turn the power off at the mains and back on. If that does not release the drawer then most likely the lid seal has locked up.

I am assuming the bottom drawer is operational.
Turn the power to dishwasher off and take the bottom drawer out from its housing carefully without tugging the hoses etc at the back. This will expose the power module at the base. This supplies the power to the lid seal actuator motors on both drawers. Disconnect the leads going to top drawer and turn power back on. This should free up the lid seal - might need a little pull to get drawer to open. Connect everything back in (disconnect power first) and see if it works.

If this is unlclear then drop a comment otherwise rate the solution to help fixya help you better in future.

Will not complete wash cycle

I had a similar problem, except I did not notice a burning smell. I would put my dishwasher on and it would stay on the wash cylce for ever. I had to manually turn the dial to the next cycle.

I had a repairman in and told him I thought it may be the thermostat (from everything I had read online). He dismissd my diagnosis and said it was the timer. He order the timer and came back 2 weeks later and replaced it. It did not solve the problem. He then ordered the thermostats (my Haier ESD102 has 2 of them) and came back 3 weeks later and installed them. That solved the problem!

Timer = $137 CAD (covered by warranty)
Thermostat 1 = $14 CAD
Thermostat 2 = $21 CAD

Moved into house with no manual...

The user manual is available at this site. But won't say much about F1 error except the flood switch has triggered. This means water has collected under the drawer in the main housing.

As the dishwasher was not used the drain hose must have cracked or the water inlet is leaking.

Water inside the dishwasher needs to be dried even if you fix the leak. check the installation manual on page 7 to find out how to take the drawer out. Then inspect the housing drains etc and the inlet water connection tap. Get a few towels and dry the base and then put the drawer back and test.

If drain hose is crackedt then these need to be replaced.

Make sure you leave the mains power cable disconnected when handling the inside of the dishwasher.
Hope this works for you. It is a nice dishwasher but needs a good deal of care.Do post a comment to let me know.

Wash motor

When a dishwasher doesn't get used, the gunk under the float switch dries up. Get that thing moving again, and you'll be back in business!

Miele no heat

The last I checked, the G660 will not work for the G665. If you look under Applicances in your phone book, you will see several appliance repair places. Most of them can get you universal kits to replace this. I however caution however that you should really let a tech look at your dishwasher. Something tells me that boards got shorted out by mistake without realizing it.
