I think you have a faulty battery so if you can replace it. If the problem still persists then the most likely cause is a faulty capacitor on the power supply board of the gps. If you can find a competant technician to fix it. Hope this helps.

Garmin 1260T blankscreen?

Try pressing and HOLDING the power button for up to 15 seconds (or until it powers up - whichever happens first). This is a "hard reset" and should get you going unless the battery is discharged.

Oddly, batteries can discharge when the GPS remains on the car charger. Disconnect it and connect to the your computer's USB port (or AC adapter if it came with one) over night. The computer must be ON - "sleeping" is ok too - just not "OFF". This will charge the internal battery.

If it will not accept a charge, you may need to replace the battery or return the GPS to Garmin for service.

How can I make my digital camera battery last longer?

Hi there,

On every electronic that use a cell battery, that need to be charged and discharged after every use.

The very common easy steps on how to make your battery life last longer is just practice the complete the charged/discharged cycle of the battery.

You nee to at least once a wee to completely discharged the device battery, and charge it on the prescribed charging hours. Do not exceed on the number of hours the battery has to be charged.

Hope this initial information/idea helps. Let me hear from you again for any other instructions.

Thanks

I'm using the x-760 many years and I have to

you could try the new lithium primary batteries .. i think your camera uses AAA batteries .... the lithiums have a higher voltage output than normal cells and they last much longer .. they cost more but they cost about the same when you consider how long they last ..and the price is coming down .. so before long they will be a bargan ... worth a try anyhow to prove your theory of high trip point .. if you are using rechargables then some of those have a lower voltage than others .... many have a very high self discharge rate .. so you have to charge them just before you use them ... there is some new type batteries available that have a very low self discharge rate ... they are a new version of NiMH and they can stay charged for a year ... one is called hibred ??? another "eneloop" .. and i cant remember the others but you can look for "low self discharge NiMH ..the terminal voltage is slightly higher and they can be charged many more times then normal NiMH ... .

Not turning on

My unit was totally dead. I just kept it plugged into my computer for about 12 hours. I downloaded the newest software from Garmin. When I unplugged it from my computer, the battery seemed to drain quick, but once I plugged it into the card adapter in the car... everything seems to be running great now.

Battery inqueries

Batteries can last up to 2 years, depending on how often the battery is recharged. The more the battery is cycled (charge/discharged) will reduce its life.

You will know when the battery needs replaced when you find that the unit dies quickly even after being on the charger.

Nuvi 750 wont turn on even when i hold the on button for a minute or more

Looks like the in-built rechargable battery is fully discharged. Try charging it for good amount of time like more than an hour through Car or computer charger. Keep the unit off to maximize charging.

760 garmin will not power on!!!!

The battery may be fully discharged. Once the battery has fallen below a certain level, it will not be possible to recharge via the car adapter. Instead, the GPS should be connected via USB cable to a computer for 8 or more hours to charge the battery. Disregard any missing driver messages, as the computer will provide the voltage required to charge (regardless of drivers present or not).

Once charged, the car charger should be able to keep the battery charged - unless allowed to become fully discharged again. Repeat USB charging as needed.

If your unit needs servicing, your best bet is to contact Garmin. It is not set up similarly enough to your PC for you to be able to repair it.
