I was hoping someone could help me, i have had my hitachi camera for a while but have never sat down to burn the movies i have to disc, until recently when for the first time i tried to use the software that came with the camera. i tried starting the movie album se but i get an error messagef7777777 or something like that, and it just shuts down. i know i do have a problem with my computer in that my sound card isn't being recongnised by my system and i have had no sound since i re-formatted it. would this be the cause of the problem with movie albumSE or not????? also i have tried to used mydvd program but when i start it and press the video camera button it says it cant find my device. all i want to do is get the movies i have on my ram disc's and put them on a vcd as i dont have a dvd burner on my computer so my kids can watch them and i can re-used the ram discs, i dont really care if i dont get to edit them at this stage. How can i achieve this, any help would be gretly appreciated. Sorry nearly forgot, i am in Australia, Newcastle, How about you? Cheers
OK geof lets see if we can get them on vcd. Don't see why the moviealbum software doesn't work. Have you installed all the necessary drivers that were on the disk UDF and USB? Alternative method. Hook up your camera to usb and see if you can see it with explorer. If you can't you must still need to install the drivers from the disk. OK assuming you can see the camera you should see the following folders RTR_EXTN, DVD_RTAV, DCIM. Copy the folder DVD_RTAV to your hard drive. In that folder you will see a file VR_MOVIE.VRO this is your video. There are a number of programs that will read .vro files but the one I would recommend you get is Womble MPEG Video Wizard. It is amazingly easy to use and automatically recognizes .vro files Download the trial version here http://womble.com/products/
You will be able to edit it quickly and easily if you wish if not simply load the vro file put it in the timeline and then export it as vcd (mpeg-1) file

The door does not open so unable to put new media in. Essentially it means that the device is useless. There is power but it does not play anything as the media is not recognised - battery indictor ok and the bleeps come on when you switch it on and off. I think I just need to eject the media and it may be ok from there or could be electrical? Your expertise would be highly appreciated as I miss this camera. Thanks...
