Replace Icemaker wr30x10093. Works for one or two cycles of ice, then unit
freezes up at refill cup/hose. Suspect system is allowing water to come in slowly which then freezes the cup/line. Is there a solenoid for this?

Re: GE SSS25KFMD SIDE BY SIDE
You might have a bad water valve that it wont close since your just repl ice maker then try to repl water valve at back if is leaking then the fill cup will be full of ice and also it will be over filling the ice maker mold

The ice maker uses a internal thermostat that starts the cycle of dropping the ice and refilling with tap water. If your water control valve works filling the ice maker then the problem is the ice maker itself that will need replaced. Unfortuantly the ice maker you have has no rebuildable parts and will need to be replace with a=> WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly
You have two sides to the water control valve so look inside your ice maker and see if after the last ice harvest your ice maker refilled with water. If half full or empty try filling the ice maker with tap water up to the top of the the ice maker. If the ice maker dumps the ice after the water freezes then does not refill with water this will point to the WR57X10051 Dual Water Inlet Valve If the ice maker does nothing once filled with tap water will point to the WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly and will be better to repace. I will be here should you have more questions, Thanks Sea Breeze
Your model came with an electronic ice maker. If trays are empty tour on and fill with tap water. After it freezes if it cycles and dumps but does not refill with water the the problem will be the side of the water control valve on rear of the refrigerator that controls the water to ice maker. If the water freezes and does nothing then you may need to shop around for a new ice maker. Part number is WR30X10093 for the Ice Maker and WR57X10032 for the Water Control Valve. Let me know what you find or ask questions, Thanks, Sea Breeze
the condensate tube is run incorrectly on this model and goes uphill into the area above the refrigerator where there is a condensate pan. This will plug and back up and cause this problem. I have fixed ours several times but it always came back. The last time I bought a new clear plastic tube and reran the condensate out the back of the refrigerator and down through my floor. It's all downhill now and seems to have fixed the problem.
Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and does not dump , replace the icemaker . Check to make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc . If it does dump , and does not refill with water , replace the water inlet valve ( piece behind refrig where the wall water line connects to on the fridge ) . Check to make sure the fill tube that fills the icemaker is not blocked with ice , still indicating a bad water inlet valve ( slow seep ) .
Put the filter back in . Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it dumps , then replace the water inlet valve . If it doesn't dump and the ice stays in the icemaker , replace the icemaker . Also , make sure the coils are clean of dust etc... Reset the controls back to normal or you could create water freezing in door (dispensor) .
If your freezer temperaures are good i.e. it freezes ice cream and the like, then you need to replace trhe icemaker. Typically, under normal conditions, the icemaker would dump a load of cubes @ every 1-1/2 hours. Icemaker part number WR30x10093 @ $148.00 from Marcone Appinace parts or AP Wagner
