Re: Siemens router & Dynex adapter
Double check if there is any wireless security enabled in your router. Verify if the type of security enabled in your router is already supported by your wireless adapter. If the wireless security enabled in your router is not supported by your adapter, change the security to something that will work with your adapter.
Try connecting your computer with dynex Wireless G USB to different wireless network for further isolation.

Unfortunately, the DX-E402 is not a wireless router, so it can not transmit its signal without a physical cable connecting the router to your computer. If you want a wireless router that can also connect to your ISP, check out the Dynex Enhanced Wireless G Router:
If you installed the wireless utility for your adapter try using that instead. You can also enable first the Wireless Zero Configuration on XP Click Start-RUN- Type services.msc on the RUN box then on the services local look for Wireless Zero Configuration, Right click on it and select start thats it you should have a View available wireless network option now.
Plug a Cat 5e cable from your computer into the dynex router. Go to "Run" in the start menu and type "cmd". On the black screen type "ipconfig" The default gateway is your Dynex router. Open internet explorer and type "http://192.168.0.1" or whatever your configuration was. Log into router Default username is: admin Default password is: (blank)
When the installation software asked me if I performed the steps in the Quick Installation Guide, I just said yes. Here's what I had done prior (I'm not saying this is what the guide says to do, but, I was able to set up my DYNEX Wireless Enhanced G Router after having done these steps):
Connected the power cable and plugged it in to the wall.
Connected the Internet cable from my DSL modem to the Green port on the back of the router.
Connected my PC using an RJ-45 cable to one of the blue ports on the back of the router.
