sounds like the oil pressure is low and thus making your valves taping so i would check the oil first . as far as the heat . is the blower blowing or is the air not worm . first if no blower blowing then check the fuse it will be 30 amp . no worm air then check coolant flow through heater hoses. both should be getting hot . if that,s good then put it on defrost if you smell coolant or windshield fogs up or see wet spot on passenger side floor replace the heater core . should do it . hope this helps .

Repair

There are no adjustments for this machine. Chances are that the plastic gear that is driven by the worm gear has a spot that is worn down and when worm gear hits this spot, it does not drive . Replacing gear is the only remedy. Good luck.

Spots on photos

Try buying a kit to clean the camera internally. If this does not work you will have to find a professional camera shop to service it. Have had this problem with several cameras. Other then that photo shop the spots out.

I need to replace the bottom bracket. What size bottom bracket will fit the bike (i may replace the crank as well as it is very worm after little use

I'd advise you to consult a bike shop as there may some interactions between a given BB and a given crank that may result in chainline problems. If you work with them and they can't get the recommended parts to work they will have to make it right.

Why is your crank "very worm [sic] after little use"? Do you mean the chainrings (which are replaceable)?

There may be other things at work here that a shop might spot and resolve.

While kneading bread my mixer suddenly starting hanging up at the back side. It makes the full circle but when it gets to the back it stops and "hums" and then sometimes will go on but most of the time...

It sounds like you have lost some teeth from your worm gear. This usually happens when the mixer has been overloaded. The teeth on the worm gear are designed to fail first to prevent more serious damage. To replace the part you will need to open the head on your mixer. The gears are at the front of the mixer packed in grease. It should be obvious that the worm gear has broken once the head is open. If it is not the worm gear, with the head open it should be easy to spot the problem. The gears are available as spare parts from several places on the internet. search for "kitchenaid worm gear"

I caught a spoon in my kitchen aid stand mixer. The mixer will not turn, and oil leaked out of the side

When you replace the worm gear, you should be able to see if you need more grease. This will have been the "oil" you saw escaping.

- Do not strongly press

- Clean the platen glass

there is no such

Trying to replace the gear worm on a kitchenaid mixer ksm5ps

Hi. Go to the kitchenaid website, search for the parts catalog for your model of mixer. Download the file and use these expolded diagrams to get to the worm gear shaft. You'll have to remove and save the grease when you remove worm gear. This is a messy, but necessary job.

You don't say what caused the worm gear failure in the first place. If you were making a heavy bread dough when it failed, you need to look further than the worm gear.

Once you have removed the top cover of the mixer, look at the now exposed transmission housing at the top front of the mixer. If this is a plastic housing, check it carefully for cracks. If you find cracks anywhere on this housing, you have discovered Kitchenaid's cheap plastic housing. If your warranty has expired, remove this trans. housing. If you've never done this type of work before, I recommend that you take a digital photo at every stage of part removal, as these photos will help you when you re-assemble the mixer.

If you find that the trans. housing has cracks, this is the direct cause of your worm gear failure. You must check for further damage to the worm gear bearings and their seats. Look for cracks and/or pieces broken off of these bearings. Re-assemble in the reverse order using the photos and the drawings to guide you.

Be prepared to wait for a month for your parts to arrive. Insist on a new METAL housing for the under engineered trans. housing. Kitchenaid is now owned by Whirlpool Corp. The product is but a shadow of the way Hobart used to manufacture these mixers. If this solution has assisted you. please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45
