If you cannot access the router setup page because of invalid password , you will really receive that error message, When you try to access the router setup page try to leave the username blank and password will b admin, if that one is not working try to use your commonly use password and leave again the username blank and if still not working the next step is to reset the router by pressing the reset button for 15 seconds while the power is ON, then after that the router will be back to its default settings with the deafult password which is admin..

Hope that helps.........

Disable custom error 404 page

Um, no offense, but did you even read my message before posting that reply? I'm not having connection issues. There is nothing wrong with the wifi, or with the router's connection to the internet.
My problem is that, when I try to go to a URL that does not exist, e.g. http://no.such.url, instead of seeing a 'Could not find the sever specified' page, I get redirected to http://dlinkrouter/error-404.htm.
I'm confident that this issue is cause by the router, not by the ISP, since it is redirecting to a page served by the router itself.

What is the router brand?
The generic error 404 is page not found. Try powering the router off and the modem, if you use a modem, off for one minute and then powering them back on.

Hi I am having trouble with server connections, I keep getting Firefox can't find the server at or Sorry, 414 Request-URI Too Large.Yahoo search, or Sorry The connection has...

Thank you for using FixYa

This error occurs often when the Internet is having traffic issues. I assume you are able to go directly to another website and display a page, and that this is not every web page is down. It is probably an internet problem and not your equipment. Try going into a different web page directly from browser search box. You could clear your cookies and cache and try again to see if that makes any difference. Otherwise you will have to contact your ISP and see if they are having problems. If it is only certain web pages then it is not your ISPs problem.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

When i whant too download mp3 files too my computer i get messege error server 404 what can i do too fix it??

A 404 error comes from the other end - normally it means that the file, page or site that you are trying to connect to does not exist.
There is nothing you can do.

I cant get on internet all i get is error 404 please can anyone help

The Error 404 "Page not found" is the error page displayed whenever someone asks for a page that’s simply not available on your site. The reason for this is that there may be a link on your site that was wrong or the page might have been recently removed from the site. As there is no web page to display, the web server sends a page that simply says "404 Page not found".
The 404 error message is an HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) standard status code. This "Not Found" response code indicates that although the client could communicate to the server, the server could not find what was requested or it was configured not to fulfill the request.
The 404 "Not Found" error is not the same as the "Server Not Found" error which you see whenever a connection to the destination server could not be established at all.

Http 404 alarm. will not let me connect to my e-mail address

I am presuming that your email is kept at a web site. since "404" is a http "page not found" error.

1. Can you still get to other web sites ? if yes then
2. Type (carefully) the http address or url into the address bar and press enter. if this worked then
bookmark the page.
If not then the site/page may be blocked your computers firewall or other watcher software or by your system administrator / parent/ tech/ spouse/ friend/.
Or the site is no longer at the address or gone permanently.
3. Try on another computer to establish that it is your computer or get a friend go there.

Cant access the Default gateway

since you're able to acces the home page but not the rest, it might be that the upgrade was not successful. try to manually reset the device if it has a reset button then power cycle it for like 30 seconds to a minute.

hope this'll help you
