I now have replaced 3 lamps and a ballast assy. The new lamps do not light up immediately, often not at all after about 8-10 tries, yet the original lamp works fine the first time, every time. Is there some kind of start up or initialization process for new lamps?

I have a 46HM95 and have replaced a couple of bulbs with no problem. Now the TV won't start consistently. Reading threads of the other models, I am pretty convinced it is a bad ballast. I'm going to buy a new ballast, and install it. Neither the service manuals or any thread I have read mention anything about conditioning or resetting the bulbs, and I have been through three bulbs in three years...now no consistent starts....

    Good luck.

With the lamp replacement you also have to go into the setting menu and reset the lamp hours down to zero. If you do not do that the projector is not recognizing your new lamp.

Check that your lamp fan is working. It may also be a bad ballast for the lamp.

Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will help to solve the problem,,,,

Tv image will not show , it turns off it says ... something about the lamp inside the tvneed to be replaced?

The lamp timer on your unit has reached the max hours. it needs to be reset. There should be a reset feature in the menu. You should replace the lamp. It will brighten up your picture too. It must be done soon as once the timer reaches a limit your unit will not turn on at all. Check your manual for proper lamp type and replacement proceedure.

HLP5067W Going on and off

Sounds like the bulb needs to be replaced. With the tv you have the Bulb last about 6000-8000 hours. If you think that is about right then you it most likely is time ro replace. You should be able to find the replacement bulb from the manufacture and then find it online to purchase.

simply unplugging the TV and turning it back on if started to work.
if it doesn't then the Trying a new lamp first is reccommended.
After all, you will need another lamp eventually.
Samsung Parts

model HLM507W as two different lamp replacement part. the LAMP for my TV was BP960224A. the replacement lamp listed on the Samsung site is BP960224C which was replaced by BP960224J. the difference according to my supplier is that A part has a brown power coupling and the J part has a black power coupling. hope this helps someone in the future. The couplings are different and a black LAMP coupling will not fit a brown TV coupling.

Replacement is simple, getting the right bulb is tougher. Make sure the TV is unplugged and the lamp has cooled. Looking at the TV from the back there is a lamp cover on the lower right. Remove the single screw, remove the door. There are two screws holding the lamp in, loosen these. Then flip the black plastic handle up at the bottom of the lamp assembly and pull the lamp assembly out.

Note the brand of the buld and the color of the connector (black or brown) and then call to order your parts from Samsung's parts reseller

With set off...mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + power.
Arrow down to "Options" push enter.
Lamp reset and lamp hours should be in there.
Power off 2 minutes or until fan kicks off to exit.
