You are getting the model from the unit's bottom which is incorrect Search
around the lid or open <system information> window from the start
menu - accessories - system tools OR Run - type msinfo32 and press
enter On the right side of system information you will find system model Then
go to esupport.sony.com and enter the model vgn... or vpc... or vgc...
something you found before. If it doesnt find it there its because the
model is foreign and you need to go to the sony support page from the
country of purchase
You can go to www.driverguide.com there should be drivers on there for all the operating systems, or contact the manufacture website www.sony.com to see if there are drivers there aswell hope this helps you.
or try putting the disk in that came with the laptop and having it get the drivers off that. Or if it only came with a windows disk call sony and see if they have a driver disk you can download or they can send you
