How to date & time photographs

Nearly every camera will automatically add the date and time of the exposure as part of the file details - when you view the memory card in Windows Explorer - and have selected the "Details" view (as opposed to Large Icons, Medium Icons, Small Icons, List, etc.). An example is shown below (click the light blue rectangle for additional information):

25602657-qe1m4n3jtijpoel4n42m3u4i-1-0.png Some cameras might allow you to place the date / time on the front of the picture as the way some film cameras did, but it may prove to be a problem to automatically import the file details (like those in the rectangle above) and place as a watermark on the front of the picture without additional software or license fees. Look into "watermarking" on Google for additional help with placing text or graphics on the front of a photo.

How do I get the dat stamp to appear

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its metadata. Just about any photo viewing program can show you this data.
If you want the date printed, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer, you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

I have a Panasonic DMC-FX550 Lumix camera. The date and time show on the camera when i play the pictures, but when i connect the camera to the laptop and view them i cannot see the date and time.I have gone...

The camera screen is displaying the "metadata" for each picture as you view them. Your computer screen does not. However, when you download your pics to the computer, the metadata goes with them. If you hover your pointer over each file, the info will appear. You can right-click and get even more info. Some photo editing programs will even give you every detail including the lens opening and shutter speed, the make of camera that took the pic, etc.

Cant find manual. need help figuring out how to get the date to show on the photos

The Date and time is not printed to the photo. the details are saved withe exif details when the picture is taken. These details can be accessed using the info button when viewing the picture. or, once the picture is saved to your pc the exif details can be viewed with your software or if you right click on the picture and select properties, select the summary tab, then click on advanced. this will bring up the exif details giving you all the information relating to that picture.

hope this heps

Kodak EasyShareC743 - can view pictures but unable to save to computer

I had the same problem, and after some time I remembered that my camera had been for a long time without batteries. When I tried to get new pictures, it asked me to set date/time. After that, I was able to download the pictures again.

Time/Date function for C-770

I dont know if this is any help because I am not sure if you actually want the date and time stamped over the top of the picture or if you just want it to have a record of the date and time with the picture. If the second option is OK then when ever you take a picture with all digital cameras I have owned and the c-770 is my newest it puts a tag in the file so that when you right click on the picture and go into the properties you can select the summary tab at the top and click on the advanced button and it will tell you every setting that the camera was set on to take that picture including the date and time it was taken.
