Hi this is an easy one but please rate me as.

Cool What you got to do with this machine is basically remove the back panel to get to the filter at the bottom of the drum.

What you will need is a pozi screwdrive and a pair of pliers for this job, and in most cases the filter is blocked.

So pull the machine out from and disconect the electric, look at the back of the machine and you will see a whole load of screws which to be exact there are about 9 small ones and 6 others which are slightly larger near the bottom area of the panel.

remove the panel by unduing the screws. once removed at the bottom of the drum you will see the filter which is connected by either a steel clips which you just squeeze and pull down the filter. inside is a plastic white thing and just pull it out with the junk in it and empty and clean.

replace filter and back ,, hey presto

hope this helps im sure it will

My daughters washing machine of 3 yrs old keeps stopping and flashes F 18

F-18 means the pump is blocked. When the machine fails, there may be an "electrical" smell as the motor has laboured. This is normal. Clean on bottom right corner and you should be fine..

Open flap at the bottom righthand flap.

Keep big bucket handy for water.

Remove clear plastic attached to black tube (slowly)
This will empty water from washing machine.
Once empty - no water coming out from washing machine then open big opener next to tube and remove any objects inside( coins, buttons and such)

Put back clear plastic filler firmly inside as before.
Close big opener next to tube.
close flap

Turn machine programe knob to DRAIN.
Start washing machine.

Should do the trick....

Good luck

Machine won't spin

The most common reason for this is the pump is jammed - usually with a coin or sock or something.
The pump may be accessible from the front bottom of the machine - look for a little box open it - and you will access the coin - you can clear it and try again - remember to put the coin trap back together again.

Alternatively, if no coin trap is present you will have to tip the machine back - and look for the pump usually it has two black hoses going into it and it is situated near the bottom of the machine - remember when removing the pipes water will come out - so - have a bucket close by to catch the water.

you may find what is jamming the pump there - if there is nothing the next likely culprit is the timer... try moving the programme dial on a little bit see if the spin starts - if you have a digital machine there will be no way to try the last fix.

But the pump is almost always the problem!

Good luck

The most likely culprit here is a the pump, which may either be blocked, or broken.

You should be able to get access to the inside of the pump through a small hatch on the front panel of the machine at floor level. Beware - as you open this, really quite a lot of water is going to come out, so you'll need tomething to catch it, and you may need to shut the cover a few times if your container fills up before the machine is empty.

Once you've got into this space, remove all the loose coins which have accumulated there. If you think you found enough to block the pump and stop it working, put things back together and see if the machine is fixed.

If not, turn off the cold water supply, and run the machine in tumble-dry mode for a few seconds at a time while watching the pump impeller (looks like little fan) in the back of this cavity.

If it doesn't start whizzing round of it's own accord every time, then you need a new pump motor. These are cheap, readily available on the net, and straightforward to fit.

If the pump appears to start and run OK, then check for kinks and blockages in the hose that goes from the drum down to the pump, and in the drain hose that goes from the pump out the back of the machine. Finally, make sure that where the drain hose plugs into the standpipe (of whatever fitting is used in your part of the world to connect to the domestic drains), air can get in freely.

Hotpoint WMA35 - water will not empty and will not spin

Hi Debbie

Yes your machine will not spin if the water cannot drain... I do not have the machine in front of me but I would presume to think that you have a blockage in the water pump (or drain pump)

There is a normally a small pvc or plastic filter just before the pump and this would stop most big things entering the pump.. if not there could be a coin or button stuck in your pumps impeller.

Unfortunately if you are not technically inclined you will find it hard to access and open the pump otherwise just open the back plate on the machine (after removing the power socket from the wall) the pump is located at the bottom left and fairly easy to remove and open the plastic casing.

If this does not solve your problem please give more info........

1, your pump may be blocked by fluff coins and other debris.
2. more likely bushes worn on the main motor not giving enough umphhh (loverly word) to go through a complete spin....Bushes easily replacable. Job start to finish with parts on hand a machine mechanic 10-15mins top Diy er like me an hour allways have trouble finding the right spanner... Good luck.
