Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S600 Digital Camera
Hi. My wonderful camera is having problems. I turn it on, and it behaves as if the battery is flat - flashes the blue Access screen, and sounds the 'turning on' chord, but then shuts off. I have tried recharging the batteries, and also replacing the batteries with completely new ones. But new batteries don't solve the problem. (It's a Sony DSC-S600, new in March 2006.) What would you suggest?
Please check battery terminals inside battery compartment got clogged or black. Clean them with alcohol or some thing and should be shining.
I have seen few DSC-S600 with same problem and got repaired.

The Red indicator flashing in the Camera may be the Access Lamp or the Power Lamp. The Access Lamp is located below the Control buttons and the Power Lamp near to the power button. If the Access Lamp is flashing, it indicates that the Camera is accessing the Memory. Do not remove the Memory Stick or Batter while the Access Lamp is lit.
If the Power Lamp is flashing, it indicates that the Camera is turned on. If the Lamp is lit in Red it shows that the Battery is not having enough charge. Insert new batteries or charged Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries to resolve the issue.
You may also try power resetting the Camera. To power reset the Camera, remove the batteries from the Camera and then press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds and then reinsert the batteries after 1 minute and check if the Camera works normally. If the issue persists, service may be required.
