If the unit isn't too old it doesn't need a tune up. Only thing make sure you change the filter often based on how dirty it is when you change it. say you change it every 2 months and it is filthy go to 6 weeks maybe 30 days would be good. Now if you use a Air Bear filter they last 6 months they say but depends on how dirty it is. you have a flame proving device located at the last burner in line say you have 4 burners it looks like a piece of 10 gauge wire sticking down right next to the flame it does need cleaned maybe every other year with a piece of steel wool very lightly rub the sensor to take the carbon off. It only takes few strokes to clean. And do not even get close to the hot surface igniter it is very fragile and will shatter if you even bumb it.

A lot of air comes out of firebox when lighting then flame goes out coleman heater

What do you have your heater hooked up to? A 20# propane cylinder? Are you using a red high pressure regulator or a silver low pressure regulator? Is this the original regulator that came with the heater? I could be a regulator pressure problem or a dirty flame sensor that simply needs to be lightly cleaned with sand paper. It's also possible your igniter is faulty or your brain box has a short. I've come across a few that just needed the brain box pushed a little in a certain direction to make good contact and work again, using a small wedge behind it. Sometimes just fiddling with it and cleaning it is all it needs. Good luck. Douglas

Old coleman dome heater wont light

sounds like your feed tube might be partially plugged, or the orifice, you will need to disassemble the unit and clean it, normally a good dose of high pressure air will clear the tubing and orifice, check the tank too to see if you have any de-bree in it, hope that helps.
