The TV goes automatically off because the main chip detect an internal problem, **** as a burnt capacitor or resistance, a defective IC, a wrong voltage or a short. In this situation the TV activates a safety switch that turns TV off to prevent further damage.

Try first unplugging the power cable for thirty minutes this will drain power completely and reset TV eeproms.

If this does not work it means that there is an internal problem, components on tv pcb boards must be tested following troubleshooting diagrams to fix the problem.

If you want to do it yourself , you find replacements and repair manual here.

If you need to call a technician you can call the phone number listed on the owner manual.

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

Samsung HLP4663W Black Solarization

The speed of the color wheel needs to adjusted or the CCA values. Both are found in the service menu . If you paid a company to fix the TV, call them and tell them that they forgot to perform these alignments. If you did the repair yourself, you'll have to call around for a price to have a Samsung service center perform these adjustments. I don't recommend consumers access the service menus of modern TVs because one wrong button push and you may cause irrepairable changes to the TV's proper operation.

The loud noise is the color wheel winding down when you turn the TV off. You need to replace the color wheel.

I would guess that its the fan for the lamp, as the color wheel will power down as soon as the power is cut. the cooling fans will continue to run
