I was given the tv so have never seen it in action but when i could,nt accsess menu i figured i need tech advice.

The fault is due to input signal interruption itself. Cehck all the input cables connected to Tv, Antenna, Cable, DVD etc. Check all cthe connections for firmness. If it does not help you, the fault may be due to its settigs. Just make a factory reset to the set and check. Go to the page number [48] of the user manual, there you can see how the factory settigns can be done. All descriptions are there. OK.

Just unplug the TV from AC wall socket. Let it be in that condition for at least five minutes. This must reset the TV to its factory settings. Replug the TV again and try to get its screen. You haven't given me any details about its screen. Do you get a screen with Vizio Logo on it when you switch on the set?

If it is so, the main board of your TV is faulty. The video processing section has the fault. Repair work to this section is very skilled one. If you want to repair this secition, usually card absis replacement can be done, you must have sound knoledge in electronics, and all tools and testing instruments.
It will be wise to get this set repaired by any expereinced service technician, of by the authorised service center for Vizio at your town. Normally spare parts and boards of Vizio will be very difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. OK.

i can't acsess the menu or even see what input its set on, no sound no picture. the power light goes green when i turn it on but where do i go from here?
i've tried un-plugging, no logo screen the only thing i've seen on the screen is a bit of "colored snow" in top left quadrant it is very breif then no images at all.
