Thats the problem sometimes the Xbox360 can change that by itself but in your case i think your best bet is changing it back with your friends HDTV. Also i would try hooking up the cables one more time on your tv but make sure you turn on your xbox after all the cables are connected. But its nothing major its a really easy fix. good luck and let me know if you still have the problem.

Is the integral Freeview on my 32 inch Full HD TV HD or Not

Simple answer. No. But please read on . . .

Full HD Freeview, i.e 1080p does not exist. The four HD channels currently available on Freeview all transmit at 720p resolution. There is insufficient bandwidth in the TV transmission range for the HD channels to transmit at 1080p. It could be done, but it would be at the expense of other channels.

Your TV, however, is Full HD, as indicated by the 1080p in the specifications. This means it can display a full HD picture from a device which outputs at 1080p resolution. Devices which generally output at 1080p resolution include Blu-ray DVD players, games systems and PCs.

When viewing a Freeview HD channel, your TV will display the picture in 1080i (interlace) resolution. This is not true/full HD. The transmitted picture comprises of 720 horizontal lines and the software inside the TV is creating the additional 360 lines and interlacing them between the 720 lines from the original transmission in order to create a 1080 line picture which fills the entire screen. This process is commonly known as 'upscaling' and can cause deterioration in the overall picture quality, most noticably on poor quality, cheap TVs.

Hope that explains it for you sufficiently!

Hi everyone, Im new to this thread, but I have very high IT experience. However, I have a problem that I just cant figure out. My Dynex tv randomly started acting up. All my colors and channels are...

check the connection to your tcon board and main av board. if the connections are good one of these boards is more than likely bad. Google their part numbers and see if that board has a known issue

thanks,

XBOX NOW PLAYS IN BLACK AND WHITE WITH OLDER TV DID WORK FINE AND DOES ON NEW HDTV ALL CABLES GOOD NOT SURE WHAT TO DO TO GET COLOR BACK

There is a switch that changes the video cable from SD( for use with older TV's without high definition connectivity) to HD (used for newer HD TV's with high definition.

If your older television is using a composite (yellow) connection for video, make sure the switch is in the SD position and NOT hd.

I hv an old style xbox 360 n i bought a vga hd cable.is it automatic 1080p

It depends on your monitor or tv's native resolution,
if your tv/ monitor is 1080p then you should be able to get 1080p in the xbox settings from the dashboard.
Also, any xbox 360 should display 1080p.
Hope it helped.

Aquos screen blacks out with xbox 360 using Component Cables

Downloaded the updated firmware from the sharp website to a usb drive. Placed the drive in the TV and went to the update software option on the TV menu. Since the update, I no longer get the black-outs on the screen. I also put the resolution on the 360 back up to 1080p and it works great, even through the component cables.

Can you connect to upconversion DVD Player for HDMI performance

The TV supports 1080i so if your hardware is plugged into the Component Cable Connection for Digital TV on the back the signal will come out 1080i as long as the hardware supports the size.

For example, my 360 is connected like this and when the dvd player is in use it upscales from the 480 format dvds use to 1080. More on the HD-DVD for the 360 and how it handles the sizes here:
http://www.engadgethd.com/2006/09/21/xbox-360-hd-dvd-playback-maximum-1080i-via-component-1080p-vga/

Kind of an old article since the newer 360s have hdmi and support 1080p that route.

Hopefully this helps.
