Compaq FP 5315

Hi,
I saw your post regardign the Compaq FP5315 I have the exact same problem. You said that you replaced the zener diode with a standard one can you tell me more, like which one I can maybe pick up at maplin etc

Yeah just replace it with a regular 7.5 volt zener diode.

its a risky for you to open the monitor and repair its power supply, coz its your monitor's power supply prob..
please contact with warranty providers.

there is NO microphone on the fp5315 monitor. I have two of these monitors myself .

yeah replace the caps and sometimes the 7.5v zener diode burns up too. I have been replacing the surface mount ones with just a regular through diode

It needs the power supply board fixed. I have fixed several like this. It needs 5 or 6 capicitors and a 7.5v zener diode which is really easy to do if you know how to solder. If you dont know how to solder you need to take it to a repair man or buy a new one.

There are also 5 or 6 bad Capacitors on on top but as far as i know the only way to fix these power boards is to replace the componets themselves as you can not buy a power board.
