I advise you to restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.
Sounds like the HAL.DLL problem that I have with my Aspire One.
Try booting off a genuine Windows XP disc and choosing the 'recovery console' option. At the command line, type 'CHKDSK C:' and press Enter. If you're lucky, that will do the trick.
Acer Aspire One netbook stays loading windows xp and goes nowhere went to last known config..... nothing.......went on safe mode with networking ......nothing...samething....starts up loading windows xp and stays there.
Hi there If you tried in safe mode and still no joy you will have to perform a system recovery with the recovery disk you got with the laptop or the recovery partition, Please be aware that you will loose data.
I would do another clean install...Start the machine with the OS disk in tray/follow on screen instruction...if it does not works that way when you start the machine up go to setup and make cdrom your 1st boot/save and exit/then restart machine and follwo instructions
