Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
Help...smoke just started pouring out of the inside right side exhaust/intake, inside the microwave. Should I just trash it and buy a new one....the warrenty just expired.
It all depends on what is generating that smoke..Where there is smoke. there is cost associated with it.. By virtue of diagnostic time or component replacement or both..If your micro is a potential fire hazard then don't compromise your safety. If your warranty JUST expired, you might be able to convince the service people at the place you bought it that it is defective.. and they just MIGHT surprise you by replacing it free. Why not take a shot at it? In fact, if they try to adhere to the letter of the date. then get LOUDER and LOUDER in front oif as many customers that you can.. In some cases, you might be better off talking directly with the dept manager insead of the normal service reps.. Good Luck.. Be Safe...
