It could be out of black ink. If you just replaced the ink cart, did you peel the "remove this" tape off the contacts?

Black ink volume unknown

Problem is you refilled the cart and didn't reset it properly so it looks like a new cart, check your other carts and see if gears or holes are wrong.

Alignment problem. just refilled black ink cartridge..seeing message that printer is not aligned and remove tape from cartridge, but i see no tape

1) remove the cartridge and check it is not leaking. If it is, the printhead area on cart will be flooded with ink. Removing couple of ml from cart will stop it leaking.
2) If the cart looks clean (not leaking), stamp the printhead on some folded tissue paper or paper towell. It should leave a solid black stripe about 10mm long on the tissue. If it doesn't, your refill ink hasn't quite reached the printhead. You can blow little air into the breather hole (on top) to prime the printhead. Stop blowing when ink starts leaking at the printhead.
Clean the cartridge up before installing it.
3) If all above is ok and it still doesn't align properly, repeat above steps with the colour cartridge. The printer needs all colours working to perform the alignment process.

good luck with it

I replaced black ink cartridge and am getting error that says remove tape i already did that it is a lexmark 5495

Is it a truly genuine Lexmark cartridge? Many printers are *very* finicky now on cart. type. If not, try a real one and see if you get that msg.
Good luck.

After repalcing the black ink cartridge on the printer the printer doesn't recognize that it's been replaced and shows that it is still empty. It will print very light in black. What is the problem

make sure that the protective tape has been removed from the cart, and that the cart has no debris on it.Then, run your cart cleaning/testing program. If that still fails, return the cart as a defective item for an exchange.

Hi, please tell me how to install a new black ink cartridge into my epsonstylus D78 printer

Open the cover. Press the Ink/maint button (triangle shape on button) this moves the carriage to indicate empty cartridge. keep pressing until carriage moves to the ink replacement position. Open ink cartridge cover and remove the cart. Ensure you remove the yellow tape on new cart' before installing and be careful not to touch the chip on the cart'. Push new cart' in until it clicks. Close lid (ensure clicks down), close printer cover and press ink button again.

Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Only black cartridge empty, but 3 full color crtrige say empty

Remove the color cartridges. On one end you can see the opaque
ink tank inside the main cart. housing. Cut a piece of black electrical
tape to fit around the three sides visible of the ink tank. Make sure the tape fits inside the housing and adheres to the tank itself. This makes the printer think your ink is always full but you can always tell when you need to refill/replace the ink(right?). Good Luck!

I can only suggest that you should use genuine HP ink carts. Try all new carts and realign again. Hopefully it is under warranty. HP is good at exchanging.
