Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

Charactars distorted ive been having some problems with my ps3. Whenever i play now mostly on college football 09 and madden 09 the figures started to have "spear-like" objects coming out of thier bodies. ive explored a couple ideas i had, ending in failed attempts to find the problem. At first i thought it was just those two games so i put in call of duty 4 and the figures didnt distort but thier started to have "snow" on the screen. like when you have the tv on a station that doesnt work (on the older tv's). So then i assumed it must be that it is getting too hot. That is not the case, because ill play college football until the figures start going crazy and then ill restart the ps3 and upload the game again and its fine for a couple minutes then it starts to distort again. Any ideas could help. i should probably just call sony but i really dont wanna talk to someone who doesnt speak english too well. i never get anything solved with them.

after my ps3 warms up, the image on the screen begins jumping and becomes really distorted.after about 7 to 10 minutes.before that time it works fine.it seems that it is overheating.i have checked and it sounds like the fan is working.i have also hooked up a external fan but it did not help.any ideas?

Hey there they way i see your Playstation 3 might be overheating usually thats not the problem with this type of console but there is always a possibility. If your warranty is still in effect i would give Sony a call. I know you have a year of limited warranty on the console so if you are still covered you should take advantage of that. Its most likely your ps3 overheats or something. Make sure all the pheriperals are all the way connected too. Well let me know how this turns out. oh and one more thing if you wanna call Sony make sure you have the serial number of your console and all that info it helps a lot when you have it on hand already. Make sure you have at least 30 to an hour of your time to deal with the problem over the phone with Sony cause it does take some time. Good luck and let me know how that turns out.

it sounds like your a/v cable has been crimped at some point so that when you play for a long time the heat in the cable causes a weak electrical arc, you may need a new one.

Madden 09 ps3 game keeps freezing up

If you bought another copy of the game and it happens at the same exact place it's probably because your game data has become corrupted. Go to GAME, then Game Data Utility folder, delete the Madden 09 info and see what happens. It's probably a good idea to do a backup first just in case this doesn't fix the problem.

Playing madden 09 online

If it says ea servers not available that means the servers are down for maintenance, this is not unusual for video game servers, happens once or twice a month....

Also keep in mind playstation servers and xbox server are totally different.
