Question about Televison & Video

I have a LG 32LX2R-ZE flat screen LCD TV, We've recently had a power cut and the TV doesn't seem to work, Cable is okay but there is no power getting to the TV. I havn't got the manual and i've heard that it has a built-in fuse, Is this true and could this be the problem?

Just bumping this one up a bit, anyone got a solution for this one. Not much about on the internet about his problem but i did read somewhere that this TV has an internal fuse. If this is the case i could just replace this if i new where it was

I used to be a TV engineer many years ago, and I do not profess to know much about flat screen TV's.
I have just been asked to look at one of these which has suffered the same fate as yours.
It does have an internal fuse, but it is not a "normal" household fuse, it is a component fuse and you will need to be able to solder and de-solder to be able to fit one.
That said, the TV I have here, the fuse is OK, if I disconnect the PSU from the main board, the standby +5V recovers, suggesting the PSU is operational. Connect it back up and it drops, something is shorting out the +5v, which is why it will not switch on.
Without a diagram, this has become very frustrating, and Ithink I am going to have to give up,
Sorry it's not good news people!

We have an LG 32LX2R-ZE. We have no sound, but the picture (Virgin Cable) connection is fine as is our Internet. I've checked all the leads and, no, neither the TV or the Virgin box are on mute!. Any...

I had the same problem and after buying loads of different cables came to the conclusion that the HDMI input on the TV was at fault. Bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut but I upgraded my home cinema amp to one that had HDMI in/out and now I put the sound through that and use the TV as a panel with volume turned to zero.

My ViewSonic LCD tv works for a while then the picture cuts to black. audio is still okay. rest it and it comes back for a spell

Seems to me like you have a backlight problem, its the inverter board which powers the backlights that brighten up the screen so you can see the image, sometimes the capacitors on these boards fail due to the immence heat, in some models they are separate or on the same board as the power supply board.
hope this helps

Picture outside of screen limits

I have Time Warner Cable and just FIXED this problem. On the cable box remote, there is a button with the word "Aspect" on it. On my particular remote, this is the "#" button (pound symbol) and by pressing that button, it gives you options of "Zoom 1", "Zoom 2", "Stretch" and "Normal". By setting it to "Normal", it completely solved the problem. Oh and by the way, my t.v. is the LG 47" flat screen LCD. Hope this helps the other frustrated folks out there.
