Question about Whirlpool Dryers

1 Answer

I have a whirlpool super capacity dryer that is very slow drying the clothes. It takes three or four cycles to dry a load of clothes. I've cleaned the lint screen.the exhaust tube and the clothes aren't extra wet when i put them in the dryer. I can feel the heat in the dryer when its running, so i know its heating. I'm not even putting allot of clothes in the dryer.

Dryer does not dry clothes completely

If your machine is taking that long to dry. You either have a clogged vent to the outside or your gas valve coils are bad. You can check to see if it is your vent by disconnecting it for one cycle. If the unit drys in time then clean your vent. Click Here to see what a clogged vent can do. Click here to see gas valve coils.

Why isn't My Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 Series Soft Heat Extra Capacity Electric Dryer drying clothes on any one cycle?

One possibility: Air flow! Make sure that the lint trap is cleaned before each cycle. You likely need to thoroughly clean out the vent piping out the back of the machine- a buildup of lint in here can also restrict airflow.

On the screen of my dryer where it tells me how long I have till the cloths are dry keeps flashing AF and it takes me all day to dry one load of cloths.

The AF stands for Low airflow condition. We had it too. Check the lint trap first as it is the easiest. Then check the dryer hose ductwork make sure its not crushed or blocked. You may need to clean the line from the outside too.

The clothes take forever to dry. Even with the more Dry cycle the clothes are wet after 40+ minutes The timing changes from 40 minutes then to one hour+.....

Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance.

After drying for 75 minutes timed cycle, my clothes are still damp. I also cannot get clothes dry on the normal cycle at all.

Things to check:

Make sure the dryer is heating up
Make sure the lint screen is clean
Check the vent to make sure it isn't obstructed or plugged (this is the pipe that goes to the outside)
Make sure the unit isn't overloaded
Check the spin cycle of the washer - if it isn't spinning out enough water for the load, the dryer can't make up the difference - sometimes this is as simple as a plugged discharge filter on the hose that goes to the drain.

Whirlpool 6.5 cu ft 5 cycle is not timing and drying clothes qui

First I would check to make sure your vent is not clogged or kinked. As far as the timer, the only fix would be to replace it. Unless of course you have the feature that detects the dryness and that would put you back at the venting problem. Good luck.

Alarm sound while drying

It sounds like you have it on the "wrinkle free cycle". (I can't remember what the cycle is actually called with out looking it up.) It will tumble your cloths and then alarms to tell you to take them out before they wrinkle. If you don't take them out, it will tumble them again and alarm again, etc.
