Try the firmware upgrade to see if it will relaod the ysstem files. Also, try the Sansa Recovery Too lfrom the sandisk website as a backup. Some players allow you to reload the firmware once a system file has been deleted, but others do not allow it.

How do i turn on my Polaroid Shuffle 4GB MP3 player?

There is a led light in the upper right corner of the front. The controls are on the large round button in the center. To turn in on, press in the center of the button; the device will turn on and playback will begin. To turn it off, press AND HOLD the center of the button until the LED light flashes several times and then turns off.

To play, press the center of the button and the LED should come on and stay solid. To pause, press the center and the LED will blink once a second Press again and playback will resume.

Think of the big button as a clock face. Press at 12 for volume UP. Press at 3 for next track; HOLD for fast forward. Press at 6 for volume DOWN. Press at 9 for previous track; HOLD for rewind.

For shuffle, press at 12 and 6 together and hold for 2 full seconds. The LED will flash 4 times to show you are in shuffle mode. To go back to normal playback, press at 12 and 6 together for 2 full seconds and the LED will flash 2 times to show you are back to normal mode.

I've just purchased a Laser MF001 - MP3 player and have downloaded my songs. Now it won't work, how do I turn in on?

- Make sure you have installed AAA battery: MP3 player won't work otherwise (it does not need a battery to work as USB memory stick to transfer/delete songs or data) - To turn-on (or off for that matter), press first button on your LHS (eg. same side as earphone plug) for 2 or 3 seconds until (blue) LED is on: if you press button too long after the LED is on, it will switch the player off! - When the LED is on, stop pressing this button: it is ready to play the MP3 track by pressing on this same button until the LED starts flashing (LED will keep on flashing while track is playing). - If you want to skip this track and get to the next track, quickly press and release the next (e.g. middle) button. - The third button (e.g. nearest to the USB plug), quickly press and release, is used to rewind or go back to previous track. - Volume control is also performed by pressing and holding down the second or third buttons Have fun!

Don't know how to actually record

To record you need to first assign your input to a track, then arm the track for recording, and then press play + record at the same time.

1. So you would patch you mixer's output into an input on your DP01 (say input A). You can run some audio to set the level with the input level knob (located next to input A on the front panel).

2. Then to assign that input to a track simply press and hold the 'input A' button and then press the 'rec' button of the track you with to record on. The 'rec' button will flash rapidly to indicate that the input is assigned to the track.

(To assign the input to a different track you have to clear the input assignment from the first track and assign the input to a new track. To clear an assignment press the input assign key, A in this case, and the track it's assigned to will flash its 'rec' button. Hold down the input assign key and then press the flashing 'rec' button. The button will stop flashing and the input can then be assigned to another track by following step 2 again).

3. Next, to arm the track for recording simply press the 'rec' button for that track. The 'rec' button with flash slowly.

4. To begin recording press play + record together in the transport section and the 'rec' light for the armed track will stop flashing and light steadily. Press 'stop' to end recording.

This should get you started. The operation of the DP01 is actually pretty intuitive once you've gone through it a couple of times (which is one of the real strengths of the unit). You'll be multitracking like an expert in no time.

Cheers,

bd.
