WOAH Unistalling drivers is jumping the gun!

You could potentionaly breaksomething doing that, save that for later there are much more common issues.
1) restart router.
2) If you are connected to your router but dont have internet call your provider.
3) If your on windows and you can see the network but cant connect to it try the windows trouble shooter (it accutely works) if it says that you have an ip confilct you want to manualy change it (just google it, its easily done) If your using XP or macc this can be a common issue becuase some routers dont support them propperly.
4)make sure you have a decent connection when you first connect as the router and computers are extchaning important data.
5) if you have a super hub go to 192.169.0.1 in your browser (big HTML bar at the top). If your on another router you will have to google it. Alterntivly if you can connect in windows go to the network map in the networking centre in the controll pannel and double click on your router. Once in there should be a diagnose tool
6)reply to this post and tell me how it went :)

good luck.

SOURCE: wont connect ti internet

Same device as mine. and im on home hub aswell. Uninstall the drivers. Restart windows. Reinstall the drivers. Hopefully this should make a differance. Also when reinstalling. make sure the device is not plugged in until you finish installing drivers. And maybe put it into another usb when you are ready to try again. this is something good to try on older systems. or OS's.

Bt home hub (shuny black one) wont connect wirelessly

Try to disable the netgear interface and let windows manage the wifi card. This could also be happening if the signal is not strong enough where the machines are.
Is your wifi hub also a netgear? If not it may not be compatible with the cards if that is the case you will need to replace them with diffrent make of the cards preferably the same brand as hub.

Sounds like an IP address problem. Your IP address on both the NIC card (DFE 530) and the router have to be in the same address range. You can do this 2 ways. 1... Have your router hand out addresses automatically. Make sure DHCP is enabled and that you have at least one address available for it to give out. ie. 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.3. The first three number must be the same as the router. The other option is to manually set your IP address on your nic card to match the router. If the router is lets say 192.168.0.1 then you can assign 192.23.34.2 to your computer NIC. If you haven't been able to access your router then check your router manual to find out the default IP address and use the same number for your NIC changing only the last number. The largest number you can use is 255. Hope this helps.

2 Eth Cards one for Internet & one for LAN

First of all, I would really recommend you to buy a Cable/DSL router. It is quite cheap, usualy more secure, much easier to configure and troubleshoot. Also, it does not require to have one PC up and running all the time, hense saving energy. Do you know that a PC running 24/7 may cost between 60$ and 100$ in electricity annually? This is more than the cost of a basic router!

But, since your question is about sharing your Internet connection with a PC, here are some guidelines. I will assume here that you are using Windows XP.

On PC1:
1. Connect the modem to Eth0 in the PC. Do not connect anything in the USB port of the modem.
2. Make sure that the link lights are lit both side. If they are not, you may need a cross-over cable (this is usualy not the case)
3. Configure Eth0 to get IP address DNS automatically
4. Disable (uncheck) all protocols except TCP/IP on Eth0.
5. Run the Network Setup Wizard (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network Setup Wizard) and follow the steps.

On PC2:
Simply run the Network Setup Wizard (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network Setup Wizard) and follow the steps. Specify and you Internet connection is through a Home or LAN network.

That should do it.
