How do you test the defrost heaters

My unit doesn't go into defrost or defrost heaters aren't working

You would remove the rear panel on the inside of the freezer which would give you access to the evaporator coil. You would then need a multimeter and to be able to perform an ohms test on both the defrost thermostat and the defrost heater. Make sure that the unit is unplugged and both parts are disconnected entirely before peforming this test. The defrost thermostats usually read around .50ohms and the defrost heaters vary about the lowest I have seen is 21 ohms. Usual is around 25-28 ohms in most units. If you have any questions message me back.
Thank you
