The only thing I can think of its too heavy of a guage of line I would try a size down and make sure that when you wind it that its a nice and smooth transition in it so that nothing is over lapping and going to prevent it also if its done right and you have done it too tight this will also put too much pressure on the line and allow for it to get jammed inside once its being used because of the pressue from use.

If you look closely inside the shield, at what would be the leading edge as the string approaches, you should find a little cutter that trims the line if it is too long. This can get dull. I have had to sharpen the one on my B&D with a file before.

Rethreading a garden strimmer

Hi Deborah,
You need to start from the beginning of the trimmer string. Remove the entire spool. Insert the start of the line through and wedge it into the little groove to keep it from coming loose. Now wind the line tightly and neatly in the direction shown on the spool. (it should provide an arrow stating to "wind this way". As you near the end of the line, keep it snug and push the end through the hole where it leads out to the cutting zone. As you re-insert the spool into the housing, make sure it stays tightly wound as you lock it into place. This should help. Usually when your string is too short, you tap the **** of the spool on the ground to advance the line. It should feed a bit at a time, and when you hear it getting cut off, you should stop advancing the line.
Hope this helps.

How to restring a black & decker gl 565 strimmer

Hi Bill,
If you turn it upside down you will see the strimmer head. You should be able to remove the protective cover which will allow access to the string cassette. The rest is self evident.

Threading line on black & decker GL301 strimmer

Do you mean that the string keeps feeding as you try to operate the trimmer?

If so, you are winding the string on the spool the wrong way. Put the string on the spool in a clockwise direction. This should do it.
